It’s shameless to follow an attack that has gotten him dropped before. This is a new one I must say.No respect for this ride at all. It was shameless.
Should have just sat on the wheel after that. He would have kept his dignity.

Yeah they always do this at the end of stages for the sake of drama I guess. The overhead shot would almost always be better for sprint finishes but they show from the front so you have no idea what's happening till the winner puts their arms up.Just me being annoyed that the graphics department didn't want people to know how close the finish was.
Accumulation of racing lights out for 18 and 7\8ths days.. Just making the race subdivide into a couple of selections was impressiveWell, what was that from Pogačar?
Why you still answer. I realized that 5 minutes ago.Pogacar was willing to lose it to Jonas, thats why he paced in a headwind for 8 km lol. You could see he was visibly spent in the sprint. He didn't really have anythingg left.
Ofc all the blame is gonna fall on Jonas.
He has four stage wins, including the utter domination on Hautacam.Because Pogacar has shown soooo much panache this Tour, right?
He is the one that is not living up to his own words. It’s shameless to follow an attack that has gotten him dropped before. This is a new one I must say.
Well what was your point, then? Where's the panache we're supposed to have an aversion to?He didn't have to as no one was close and no one could be bothered to try.
Oh, by the way, Pogačar not trying to win isn‘t smart either. Vingegaard had drafted Pogačar for 10k+ , if you believe you still have no chance as the second most explosive GC rider around, then you might as well never show up to a race with Pogačar again. When the Tour is lost, you think about next year.
Sometimes the best you can do is lose as little as possible. And in this case the only thing you can do is not drag Pogacar to another win. Give him nothing for free.
What are you, a triathlete? Yes, sitting in wheels is a key part of winning road bike races. Go ask Jonny MilanThis is getting hilarious. Now Vingegaard has become someone willing to risk losing (by sitting in the wheels). That's professional level mental gymnastics.
There is a lack of common sense in half of these comments that is astounding. What are you, a triathlete? Yes, sitting in wheels is a key part of winning road bike races. Go ask Jonny Milan
If you pull at 90% and you're the better sprinter you can still win that, that's not too uncommon actually.Oh, by the way, Pogačar not trying to win isn‘t smart either. You really should read the post i was replying to. It was saying Pogi is killing cyclingWell what was your point, then? Where's the panache we're supposed to have an aversion to?
There's a bit of panache in attacking at the bottom of Hautacam, but that's it really. Compared to his former self? Having your team control the whole stage and sprinting to victory is not panache. Obviously. He has four stage wins, including the utter domination on Hautacam.
He looks fine.Pog looks completely pis*ed walking off the podium getting his yellow jersey.
Quite unhappy. Was it because he blew the stage or because he got knocked off the bike at the finish line by a steward?
nope my mistake ...still at 9th ...saw wrong resultsBen Heasly is up to 8th ...the tenacious little devil
He's been great this Tour -- all year, for that matter. You'd have to go way back to find a better year for a professional bike rider. He has four stage wins, including the utter domination on Hautacam.
It's a classic tactic deployed in Cycling through a long time. If one rider is clearly better than the rest, the best way to beat him is to ride defensively and suck wheels. Not very viewer friendly, but let's not pretend Pogacar didn't take advantage of Vismas work on the Hautacam stage win or other stages, where he outsprinted Vingegaard. It's funny how that's ok, but this is not. I'll grant the negative-Johns that he should have tried just a bit earlier, if a stage win was the objective, though. It blows my mind someone trying to defend Vingegaard here, specially when a guy is leading the GC and won 4 stages and the other has 0 stages and nothing else to conquer in this Tour.
Pog 2024 maybe. He's been great this Tour -- all year, for that matter. You'd have to go way back to find a better year for a professional bike rider.
Vingegaard wasn't pacing one single time on Hautacam. It's a classic tactic deployed in Cycling through a long time. Other than Pogaçar last year maybe - I agree 😀He's been great this Tour -- all year, for that matter. You'd have to go way back to find a better year for a professional bike rider.
He said Visma’s work. Not Jonas’s. Which would lead out Jonas to try something off of Pogi.Vingegaard wasn't pacing one single time on Hautacam.
Today, it was Pogacar who paced for 20 minutes and Vingegaard didn't even try to attack one time.
