I think people are a little put off by @9-11 teams not drilling it from the gun, trying to forge a breakaway and have non stop, fast racing from first few hundred meters of the race.. Many people want, wanted that..
I don't know. Do they watch the rest of the Tour? Since when do we get teams drilling in from the gun on a flat Tour stage, other than the folks getting into what will usually be a hopeless (these days) breakaway?

I feel like the rear outsider.. Being told until I am near dead already that things have been improved!! I liked regular old pizza, didn't need or lust after stuffed crust made in 3 minutes in a conveyor belt blow dry oven!! I know how to grocery shop..I want the unimproved Toyota trucks that last @300,000 and you sell them because you get sick of looking at them not from lack of reliability!! I don't need better, improved Ultegra, miss the old stuff that needed me to check my bank statement to when I bought a chain, cassette and got last tune up!! We don't need to improve final stage of TDF..it's heartbreaking sad that we are going to abandon the world wide truth.. If it ain't broke don't fix it!!
These slobbering fools had 20 other stages to shake it up, be innovative, cutting edge, leave a couple of stages alone!!
If UCI and ASO wanted interesting, safer races, imo do like all other races at low level, announce a day of prize, @30 seconds, 1 minute, 90-120 seconds.. Watch people think on the fly, come up with an on the spot ( starting line) strategy to go after a suddenly discovered opportunity..
Announce a pop up prime sprint for something, money, time, vacation, car..Golf and tennis routinely give away stuff.. Cars and vacations as part of the prize list..
What about a mountain top finish for the last stage ? Would be a lot of fun if the time gaps are still small

Someone told me who had been to a lot of countries and cities that Paris was the smelliest city they ever went to. Is there any truth of this?
In their data set.. Manila, Karachi, Mombasa, Alexandria, Cario, Newark, anywhere in Louisiana and Mexico City neighborhoods!! are way worse!!
France has some pretty putrid industrial areas ,Paris not on my list.. Don't get me started on Belgium!!
