It's 99km to go and only 5m10s gap to a breakaway with only 2 guys.
Lidl + Uno pulling the peloton.

There's no way Alpecin takes this breakaway to the finish line, unfortunately.

ps: and if there are echelons and Visma/Soudal go to the front, then there is really zero chance for the breakaway.
Soudal just joined the front of the peloton at 90km to go.
Gap at 4m50s

Anyone who has a sprinter capable of getting any top 10 result at all today should chase if they‘ve missed it. Better to try for the breakaway first of course, but you get even less if you don‘t do anything.
To be honest, I can`t see the difference between a top 10 and a top 12

Of course sprinters aren't going anywhere, sprint stages and sprinters are an essential part of GTing.
He also might be implying the teams with automatic bids that are content to ride passively and wait for a sprint are the ones that might be "going somewhere"--as in no longer invited. But Gouvenou doesn't have the power to change that (though I would like to see it).

I somehow don't expect loud moaning about the peloton getting more pace throughout the stage than the break. When was the duo last filmed from the front?
