Could have used the final circuit for the Tour du Poitou-Charentes if they wanted to make things a little more interesting. That would have still been a sprint, but would have broken things up in the leadout a bit more with a couple of ramps and repechos that would have put a bit more bite in the legs. Wiebes probably still wins but it tilts it slightly more toward Vos' specialism and the form Marianne is in at the moment could have made it interesting. They’re all too gentle for Wiebes. She could’ve been boxed in right before she had space. Vos came closer today but nothing to do about it.
Hectic final with no teams who can hold the pace high enough. Everyone coming around in the last km. All close to eachother.
Inside the SD Worx tactical guide:Given the fact, Kopecky couldn't hold on in the last kms, maybe at some point she will leave the race earlier. It also doesn't help that her team is calling her out, because she is not where she should be.
Yup, Vos looked very sharp today; to me it looked like 15 more meters and she might have taken it?Teams are wasting their time in these sprint stages. Excluding in 4 or 5 teams then the rest of the teams should have rider/s in the break and make the sprinter teams work for the victory. Gotta say that Vos is in good form because no-one has got this close to Wiebes in sprint finishes.
Then they would’ve started sprinting 15 meters later. I thought Wiebes gear was not ideal if you compared it. Vos also had the perfect slipstream. It was only in the replay I could see that it was more an uphill sprint, which favors Vos a bit more.Yup, Vos looked very sharp today; to me it looked like 15 more meters and she might have taken it?
Okay which rider is Zeus in this metaphor?Inside the SD Worx tactical guide:

It's what I call kerb suck.
If you drift gradually in towards the kerb and get within 5 mm or so without noticing, it's virtually impossible to steer away from the kerb, and it's a case of either crsshing or stopping.
Today could be a good chance for a break to survive, but as always it's also likely the pace in the peloton will prove to be too high.
As I have previously posted there are 10 or 15 teams who should be putting riders into the break
Yeah, I watched that again and you're totally correct; no one seems like they have an answer for Wiebes at the moment, that's for sure. Then they would’ve started sprinting 15 meters later. I thought Wiebes gear was not ideal if you compared it. Vos also had the perfect slipstream. It was only in the replay I could see that it was more an uphill sprint, which favors Vos a bit more.
Sure, but it's also easier said that done. We have seen multiple attacks being brought back on the first stages and some riders simply not being strong to hold on when they have managed to break free.
