If this gap was to Del Toro in 2nd, the people would say it was tactics.
That's because you don't believe in miracles.I didn't expect this, with this gap. This year at the UAE Tour, she was miles behind Elisa, who was the winner.
I expected an improvement to fight for the podium
There are multiple. I don't think PFP has an individual one like some do (most notably van Vleuten, however for PFP the fact she's not been a road pro for much of the run of the Clinic is likely a factor in that), but there is a catch-all women's cycling one, seeing as by asking you clearly have opinions to that effect that you'd like to share. Is there a thread for a female rider in the clinic or nothing to see in female cycling?
There are a few spectators and there are barriers at every pro bike race as you may know. Are all those barriers on Madeleine there for the sake of gender equality? Not many spectators to hold back.
They're there because it's part of the travelling paraphernalia of the Tour. There were plenty of fans in the resort at Saint-François-Longchamp, but the Col de la Madeleine itself doesn't have the largest amount of space for leaving vehicles or bicycles safely. Are all those barriers on Madeleine there for the sake of gender equality? Not many spectators to hold back.
I was going to make a joke about her only being able to climb to the fullest on an HC mountain if she is towing Pauliena Rooijakkers until I realised that the Fenix rider with her was Kastelijn.Vollering coming alive at around 2000m like an opposite Valverde.
The one part where there weren't that many spectators because it's hard to get to...Are all those metal barriers on Madeleine there for the sake of gender equality? Not many spectators to hold back.
I think it's also because there was a perfect place to go watch 2/3rd of the way up.The one part where there weren't that many spectators because it's hard to get to...
10 second gaps between Kasia and Demi fluctuating this way and that all the time like it's last year, only that was for GC...
Muzic now working for Demi and Dani giving her a reading of the Riot Act for how long it's taken her to do so, again forgetting that FDJ were able to use her as a GC card while she was with PFP and Gigante.
I do fear for Gigante tomorrow, though, she could well be a terror on the Joux-Plane if she still believes she can win or if PFP shows any weakness, but then that descent is going to be a big danger to her as well so if she preserves energy so as not to be isolated earlier on like that, she could jeopardise the podium on the descent as there's still quite a way to go and some very wounded pride among those battling with her for the podium. Bear in mind Gigante was already 40-50 seconds behind the likes of Vollering and KNP, so she will not have that much of a lead over them on the GC if it ends like this; the gap between them is not getting bigger at the moment, it seems like both groups are losing time to PFP in equal measure.
Guessing you mean Bunel? Also the part where Bego was pacing matched up perfectly for PFP, when Bego swung off it was just before a steeper ramp where PFP could accelerate and once the gap was opened Gigante was gone.
