lance's time trials

can anyone explain why his tt's have been so relatively poor since his return to cycling? i read somewhere that his bike seat is 2.5 cm lower or some such this year, but why has he not found his groove on the tt?

My altered top 5 if conditions are relatively similar for all.
1. Cancellara
2. Kloden
3. Armstrong
4. Martin
5. Hincapie

Top 5 if conditions are better for early starters
1. Wiggins
2. martin
3. Cancellara
4. Leipheimer
5. Bookwalter (I think he will surprise a few people tonight)

EDIT: Bookwalter has said that the wind will most likely change throughout the race but the dry wet factor will not be a factor.
i no you love your aussie riders :D having leipheimer ahead of rogers??? TOC tt there was nothing in it..an hincapie?? i will eat my hat if he beats miller lol

can i ask do you get any freebies being the number one fan of evans :p

Lily, I think if you look at all of his racing since his comeback, he really hasn't climbed all that great either. He's done both reasonably well, but it's not just the TT. Age is a factor. So is weight. Having said all that, I won't be shocked to see LA on the podium in Paris, for various reasons.

For the prologue, I too think Martin or Klodi could surprise. We'll see...

One of the first things that decline with age is maximum muscle strength, so naturally he has the biggest problems in short high power efforts.
Remember how bad Armstrong looked at the 8km up to Verbier compared to the 21km up the Mont Ventoux.

I am expecting a bit of Boom Boom Pow tonight.

Listen mate, I'm getting a bit sick of reading this "Boom Boom Pow" business...

A few days before the Giro, when I thought Lars was racing, I posted on this forum that the winner would be "BOOM BOOM POW!!!"

To the best of my knowledge, no one else had EVER poster that here, and now you've been posting it every friggin three hours!!!

No doubt, since you post on this forum more than a dozen times a day, you surely have copied the "BOOM BOOM POW" remark from YOURS TRULY, and I would appreciate a little bit of a mention every time you use it, thank you very much!!

This isn't the first time you've stolen a rider nickname that I first posted and therefore claim to have made up. For legal reasons, I can't tell you which other nickname you blatantly copied from me

MORAL OF THE STORY: Quote your sources! Thank you ;)

Fighting for the right to claim a joke based on a mispronunciation as your own? Nice.

His name is pronounced "bome", rhymes with home.

anyone seen anything of a start time list yet??

trying to juggle times today to keep the missus happy and still get to watch some of the better riders...

and 37C in Limburg?? Nice place to ride!

The karma-surprise of the day is that heavens will open for the whole of 15 minutes from just before 5 to a quarter past. One Wet Wiggins will know what it was like to be Millar in Assen last year. It will be well dry by the time the other favourites tackle the Rotterdam pancake. OK, I know it's more likely that it will be Millar under that private rain cloud who will remember what it was like to be Millar in Assen 09, but I'm the sort of guy who thinks it would be funny if those that went out of their way to avoid it would get caught out by their own marginal gain. And on days like this, if the heavens do open above Holland, those underneath will know what it is like to have a rain cloud dump all the water at once, without bothering too much with the whole rain and droplet bit..

Cancellara
Martin
Wiggins
Boom
Millar

Given how swiftly BMC acted with Ballan and Santambroggio, shouldn't they not suspend and pull Big George out of the Tour?

I can't see JO doing that. It's all bs remember? With the Italians he didn't know, hut this situation is bs so no need to investigate or remove riders until cleared. That's his story and they are sticking to it. ;)

It seems clouds and rain reach Rotterdam at 15:00 GMT, sooner than previously forecasted, so all riders would be affected by the rain, maybe those starting first could even be more affected by wet roads if showers stopped before TT last riders started. Bad luck for Wiggings and Zabriskie!

Cancellara, Thomas ,Wiggings, and Boom are my bets. Too short this stage for Martin, too long for Kreutziger, too much power required for Contador. Wiggins can be more affected by wet roads.

Thomas could be the prologue surprise package, doubt he can get anywhere near Cancellara over a longer distance, but 9km might be possible, he's a faster pursuiter than Wiggins.

Good luck with that bud!

NO, Rogers is not that great at time trialling and the years he has focused on climbing his tt's have sucked. He is generally very over rated when it comes with the tt! Hincapie is an excellent prologue rider and millar showed very little form at the dauphine prologue.

btw, BOOM BOOM POW!

1. I know it is pronounced Bome
2. I will keep saying it as I like saying it so the rest of youse can get lost!:D

the buienradar.nl 3 hr outlook seems pretty accurate. 15:00 and it's raining. guys who hoped to beat the rain will be disappointed

Early starters will not have advantage. Wiggo's plan has gone down the toilet.

Other surprise today could be Vogondy (almost 33 old), french TT champion, leader of Bouygues for this stage, very powerful performance in Dauphiné 2010.
