cerberus said:wow, you have a crystal ball! Any chance you can let us know next weeks lotto numbers as well?
Dr. Maserati said:I think common sence has prevailed - teams/riders that did not crash could have pushed on but also risk kissing the tarmac themselves.
This stages are not about winning the Tour - its about not loosing it.
Andy looks hurt and he has to be worried about tomorrow.
Mellow Velo said:Apart from the fact that would confirm him as the biggest bastard in the peloton, he's clearly had a hefty fall, himself, judging from the state of both his jersey and shorts.

palmerq said:for te stage... what a gay finish a big crash that could have been really interesting ends up being very uninteresting... I thought todays stage could have been good fun at the end... but i would like chavanal to win though and I hope he gets the yellow.
Thoughtforfood said:So tomorrow we can expect everyone to wait if someone falls on the cobbles? I thought part of putting cobbles in, and dodgy descents in was to cause gaps? I respect that one of the main leaders came down, and that in fact, it looked like all of the favorites were caught up or crashed, but those are the breaks. If it were a flat road and a dog came out, okay, wait. If you are in a group of favorites and one rides off of the side of a mountain, okay wait. If the yellow catches a handlebar and goes down, okay wait. If there is a stage on short steep climbs and descents in an area known for rain causing gaps because of terrain, and you add roads like that to your race, then that obstacle is there for a reason. That reason is to break up the race. The race broke up, and nobody wanted to take advantage. I wish some had is all.

Cerberus said:Having half the contenders out of contention because of a crash on the second stage isn't what I'd consider interesting.
You'll get you wish and Chavanel though.
