And then you'd have missed out on their best GT GC performance for many years. Managing a guy like Gadret, who clearly is likely to cause certain morale problems from time to time, must be a complex business but Ag2r aren't exactly overflowing with talent.

Of course. But if a support rider refuses to give up a wheel for his leader? I mean, WTF? He'd be headed home that day on a proper team. IMO.
