To quell the boredom, I was just reading my copy of VeloNews' 2010 Tour de France guide, where each stage description includes a little quote from a rider regarding the stage with some predictions/context...

Stage 5 (today's) quote came from Cavendish:

"By now we should have quite a firm grip on the green jersey, and everyone will be looking to us to control, as they always do. There's going to be some tired guys on my team already, but we've got guys who can ride all day, and they're super dedicated. I have every confidence we'll be able to bring back any break, and hopefully get a sprint. It should be a straightforward bunch sprint, and I hope to secure more points for the green jersey."

That was funny.

Is it just me that wants to be the guy on the skinny traffic island with the flag waving side to side?

Cav has ridden rubbish to be fair, but the HTC train is all over the place though and with no Adam Hansen they lack horsepower at the end.

Eurosport analyst Tony Gibb was going on about Henderson leading out Hagen yesterday but i reckon he was talking utter rubbish. Hendo is not there, it was Cummings and Flecha as Sky lead out men.

Renshaw was a bit arrogant saying how muc better cavendish is than pettachi this morning. I hope Cav does not win

btw, Rudy Pevenage has admitted to involvement in Puerto.

I think Cav respects Pettaci, he's one of the few riders that get him even when he's going well.

Maybe Renshaw is saying a few things to get Cav up and going again.

It's better to be the cop on the mountaintop finish who gets to grab the running drunks and slam them to the ground. ;)

Absolutely unbelievable leadout from Renshaw. Argie bargie with Hushovd near the end, Friere early on. And showed he doesn't need the rest of his train to do it. He used every other teams lead out.

Cav's sponsors are disappointed he didn't make stupid antics to pimp their products for the photo finish.
