The whole last km Cav rode the line between positioning and DQ’ing perfectly. In no way was that anywhere close to the blatant DQ by Philipsen today.

And I’m a big Cav fan. I mean before the sprint they almost crashed because of him. It’s just how you look neutral at it, if that was Philipsen going through all these lines swerving and bumping a lot of riders.
If Philipsen moves an inch people are complaining. It’s definitely not as bad as last year. He can’t see behind him.

And I know if you have the speed you can choose your line but he takes the whole peloton to the other side and the crash from Pedersen happens. Would you say the same if Philipsen did al of that the last km.

Even Gaviria looks in form. Looks better than at the Giro. Albeit nowhere near 2017-20 level version of himself.

There might not be any sprinter right now who is dominant (and tbf the best 2 sprinters in the world this season are not at the TdF)... but this season has been fun in terms of a LOT of sprinters right around the same level.

The GC guys navigates safely through the stage but there were some moments: Teddy staying alone in the front group, also Visma-LAB drilled the tempo a bit at the end and the leader was quite far at some point. Potentially tricky moments were avoided by the leader. So finally time for the TT!

Agreed on Philipsen, poor awareness, it was so obvious in Unchained s2 that he's overall utterly unaware.
