Didn't follow the stage, what happened? Oomen and Davidenok from the break and Lopez destroyed the field from the main group?

Guys like Svendsen, Eiking and Herklotz not too good.....

Svendsen had a hard crash early in the stage (with Godoy), dont know the consequences of that crash though but that could have played a role in his performance.

he's half a sprinter., he's more a puncher than anything
I thought of him as more of a climber but just because I don't know many results about him and he won a (short) MTF on the Volta do Futuro. That was a puncheur like stage so maybe you're right.
Anyway, hopefully one of these guys (Ferreira, Guerreiro or Silva) can take a top10 on GC, that should give them some visibility.

20sec penalty for taking plastic water bottle and put it over my head and trow it away on last climb? With 30degree? Happens al the time!!

I would accept a penalty but not like 20sec... It make a different between a shared 5th place and 10th place in GC #unreal #angry

I will handle the situation like is tomorrow. Hope the uci will do what's right. If not I will do everything to take 50sec back! #notover

Verbaeke should stay off twitter with matters like that one.

Why? He is quite factual and (understandably) angry but does not insult anybody. 20 sec penalty for catching a bottle seems harsh. What happened to fines?

Guerreiro is a climber no doubt about that. I know what im talking about. He just sprint well in Portugal because in european race he dont do top-20. Ferreira is a punchy guy and Joaquim is a climber but is very explosive.
From the three, GUerreiro has the most potential and the guy o trained Rui Costa trained Ruben Guerreiro the past two season and he knows and he sais that Ruben can be one of the best riders from Portugal in the future specialy climbing.

Oomen lost 6 seconds on Lopez so is now 12 seconds back.

This looked to be the easiest of the 4 MTF. Perhaps we will see larger gaps over the next two days.

Lopez will destroy his rivals in the next two mountain stages. Don't be surprised if he wins this GC with 2 minutes advantage.

lopez with 3 teammates!! and less than 20 riders in group

You were reading different updates then the rest of us I think :p, there were 3 Colombians (or 4 if you include Lopez, not sure) in the group not much after the group was 80 riders big, and Lopez had 1 teammate just after when the group was 40 riders big.

16h24
Il reste environ 80 coureurs dans le peloton.
16h27
Il reste 3 Colombiens dont le maillot jaune.
16h28
Ils ne sont plus qu'une 40aine dans le peloton.
16h30
Il reste un seul colombien aux côtés du Maillot Jaune.

The Colombians of course did some work early on but they had a lot of help, on the final climb the Australians did most of the pacing.
