As expected, but think it was a harder parcour than many thought. Finished in half an hour or so?
Costa is an amazing rider, what is he 19?

Clearly the small hill at the start is having quite an effect, and it's quite rolling if Wurtz, Kamna and Ganna are getting beaten by Powless and Martinez.
Kämna is a light guy himself, 65kg heavy and 181cm tall, but yeah, you only have to look at the results list to realize that it wasn't a totally flat ITT.
The next few days should be interesting.

So Costa, who was a ball of fire at the Tour of Utah, seems to be a huge talent if he is winning the ITT. Am I jumping the gun here?

i would like to remind you that martinez is a huge talent and last year he was very impressive in utah , finish
hing 10th.
he had a very decent 2015 considering he was racing for team colombia, where corti was able to spoil any kind of rider and make all the rider to really underperform.

in last year tour de l' avenue he was impressive uphill, even if he was just used for suicide attacks by jaramillo in support of seb henao, in a very bizarre tactical plot.

this year he ran the giro with southeast and he did not shine , but he was able to finish a gt at his age and this normally makes a rider stronger.

i will not be surprised if he does a really good good avenir

Wish they didn't let WT riders do this, has it always been like that? Seem to remember for some years at least there was only max conti riders. Might be wrong though, my brain works in mysterious ways.

It just doesn't seem fair, sure they are u23, but riding far greater distances for a living gives them as someone else says above, an advantage. (Quite a big one in my view).

Race still very open, battle is still between unknown winners - but if Costa is in utah form he should take this.
Sure hope he's not the new LA.

Le maillot jaune à plus de 5'00''.

NOt much left in the peloton (if this is the full group).
