Chapeau Gaudu - coming good late in the year, but better late then never. Tiberi gets the GC! wow ... what a mess up by UAE & MvdP. Ayuso & Hirschi did not seem to be on the same page.

How is it a mess up by VDP. Alpecin only has a team of three, so, support is limited. Of course, UAE is a different story.

Uae wasnt strong enough to drop VdP. They tried but the legs weren't there. Ayuso was not on the same level as Hirschi and VdP. I don't think they made any tactical errors. As far as VdP goes, he was in a impossible position. He can't respond to every attack. Sprinting all out for the bonus seconds by VdP was a mistake however, but that is easy to say in hindsight. Overall a very entertaining race.

This was actually one of the best GC races of this year. I think the route is excellent, I wish we could replicate a similar route in the tour of Britain as I am sure there is potential for that here. But, alas, the organizers are incompetent

Helped that Van der Poel didn't have a team tho.

With all this 'can Van der Poel survive the Zurich circuit?!' I feel like Pedersen is very much enjoying this situation where he is able to fly under the radar at such an extent. Those legs look more than solid.
On the only stage that was somewhat similar to Zurich, Pedersen got dropped like a sack of potatoes though.

Only watched a couple of stages, but is it being harsh to say Simmons could have easily podiumed this if he rode with half a brain cell, or was it team tactics?

Either way, he's obviously coming into form for an already very strong US team at The Worlds.
