It does not defeat my argument that as a third year pro, with his pedigree and performance should have ridden at least one Grand Tour.

If he was in another team he should of ridden a GT but not with Jumbo, he doesn’t seem that bothered by it and so far doesn’t look like it’s hurt his development.

Your development is tested by riding in the biggest races which are GT's - He must be getting a good wage if he stays at Jumbo.

I miss the time when you could watch Burgos in this time slot instead of this race. Everything about it is just not very appealing. Even Tour down Under is better, and UAE is pretty damn near close.

There is an extra week between tour and vuelta this year, vuelta is quite late, which is why the stage races between tour and vuelta are a bit more spread out.

What's wrong with the Tour Down Under?

Nothing is really wrong with it, its just not that interesting to me. Its in January and therefore the startlist is often not the best and I can't really follow the stages anyways. Its not really your standard, big WT race, but despite of that I still prefer it to races like UAE and Pologne which are just........ so bad races to me.

I think this year, it was quite good. Just wake up at 3 pm, easy peasy ;)

The gap is brought back from 5' to 1'30 in 15km time. Ineos went hard the last climb. Don't get why they didn't try anything on the steep one tho.

Hoelgaard seems in decent shape for the first time in like 2 years.
I wonder what he's gonna ride next.

This race would be better with no ITT - I suspect a few riders hand on on the short, sharp climbs and then go for the ITT - Or you need longer climbs - If there are no sprinters left, then Sobrero is a chance for the stage.

not sure what's the issue now. Are there riders ahead, about to get lapped maybe?
