I'm assuming they'll fix it eventually but Craps was literally the guy who barely kept himself from crashing with 1.7k to go (he stopped just in time) but is not being put in the same time. Weird.
I‘m guessing Lotto isn‘t that upset to tell the jury about it since Craps won‘t play a role in the GC anyway.

2.12.007.1.3 – Failing to attend the official ceremony of the DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE
WARNING to Sports Director Team Visma Lease a Bike - MORKOV Jesper (TVL) (10005763501)

Wait, are all DSes supposed to attend the ceremonies - I guess they mean team presentation? - of all teams? I thought they were supposed to be in the cars, getting ready.

Craps and Thompson are Lotto's guy for the harder stages. They aren't good enough to play a significant role but they also aren't just gonna let Craps take 1'23 for absolutely no reason even if he won't play a role for a top 10. Craps himself for example probably cares about a 22nd place here given where he's coming from.

Yeah, it'd be a bit Crap not to get that time back.

I think behaviour like that should warrant two months' suspension and loss of his driver's license.

Magnier not well positioned, and got forced far left by Brennan's maneuver, missing some pedal strokes. Would have been close without that. Yellow card and fine is honestly not enough as a deterrent. Penalty would need to be applied to Kooij to make that move not worth it.

Brennan is young and inexperienced but that looked pretty intentional as he looked over, couldn't have failed to see Gaviria, then swung hard left anyway.

The UCI are now just taking the pi$$ aren't they. What the hell is this?
pretty sure it's a mistake, or some auto-fill issue. The race has a "Decathlon Team Classification", and for whatever reason, the team + manager of the winning team had to get on the stage for it today

From the roadbook:

11.1.7. DECATHLON TEAM GENERAL CLASSIFICATION, the award ceremony for the team classification shall be held after the finish of the following [last?] stage except for the first stage where the team of the stage winner will be honoured. For the award ceremony the team will be attending with a minimum of 3 riders and 1 Team Manager.

Ah, so one of those cases where a sponsor sponsors both a team, and some part of a race?

Just like Viviani, Bauke has also set his main goal of the season:

The climb to the finish is the same as last year in Stage 1:

It could have gone either way, but in the end Nys won back then. Is Brennan better or worse than him?

This is the type of stage Nys is a unicorn in, I don‘t really see Brennan winning

That's way too hard for Brennan.

Yeah, but the old man no longer looks sharp. I hope Majka will have the support of the team.
what does one sentence has to do with the other? ;)

Over at Astana, Ulissi now shares leadership with Bettiol, by the way. Who, as Shefer said, came to the race in really good shape - for the first time this year.

Maybe he needs to win a stage here to ride the Vuelta? I'll look forward to the ITT.
