Err, Froome did like 40 km on the front of the peloton in the finale. He did all the pace-making on the final climb...after that he probably saved energy for tomorrow. He did an excellent job as a domestique.

Ok, Froome in Vuelta form would've ridden the entire peloton off his wheel and won by 4 minutes, but that's not the point.

That is. Froome in Vuelta form would have continued making pace for another 50km and finished solo

I don't think this is how you predicted the stage would pan out... or did deliberately say your usual nonsense so no one would bet on your choice?

He looked quite strong yesterday, maybe he wants to get into a breakaway.

His DS has told him to take it easy the first few days, as he's recovering from a slight knee pain.

admittedely I don't call favorites in race topics because I know people on betfair check these forums ;) some I can't hold my enthysiasm though like rujano but I hope it won;t affect his odds too much ;) I;m usually an idiot anyway

If he was on form then everybody would have finished outside the time limit
That;s why he took it easy while on the front - to make sure Cavendish and Thomas stayed in the race

Why? Bak is a pretty good climber. He's been top 20 overall in the Giro and Vuelta.

I see. Well, I definitely hope you Danes get some success soon, been a pretty dire year for you so far. Hopefully Fuglsang can do something about that in the Giro.

and Bak actually won the Tour l'Avenir (back when there were still team selections and it was -25 instead of -23)

What's the difference with Norway? Nordhaug winning a race on Mallorca?

isn't he that stating he's going for top ten last Vuelta, than went for one hour record and so? I haven't notices anything of this yet... Isn't he riding like a coward than? Just asking :)

EBH has a stage at T-A and Algarve, as well as a 5th place in G-W and 2 point jerseys (lol).

Kristoff has a stage at De Panne + points jersey and a 15th place in RVV.

Nordhaug has a win on Mallorca, 4th overall at CI and a 6th overall in Pais Vasco (+ a clear top 5 in Amstel if not for the fall).

In summary, 4 victories + 12th on CQ nation ranking > 0 victories + 17th on CQ ranking (with far more riders). I'm not saying that Norway has had a good year so far though, but certainly not very bad either.

The top 10, or rather the top 5 is correct as you said. But the hour record is not. It was a transelation error. Kash said that he would try to set the best time for Kazakhstan in the new veldrome. And no, he is not riding like a coward, he is finding his form. Remember how few race days he had with Lampre. It's not strange that he is improving race by race now.

And Chris Anker in the Tour! :D (Either GC or KoM)
Not to mention that I, and he, hopes he'll be going to France wearing the Nat Champ jersey!

yeah I know, that thing with coward was only question on Ryo, I really don't think he rides like a coward. But did he set the best time for Kazakhstan? I don't think so...did he even try, or just spoke? I know that he raced little in Lampre, but not so little. That had a reason - he was bad and is further in Astana even if he races more. Look at Kreuziger who wasn't racing since Tour, or Boonen, or Horner - ale of them with health issues for a long time and are racing very well since start of the season.

Yesterday stage? Really? I enjoyed it a lot.

Yesterday was good, today was dull, couple of decent days coming up and a GC deciding tough TT. As good as it gets for Romandie tbh

We will see at the Tour, that seems to be his motivation. I dont think he can return to his former level, but he could still be a good All-Rounder. You mentioned Horner with health issues. I know my point that i am going to say now will not be valid in 2012. But Kash was out for 3 years, he returned finished 18th in the Vuelta. After only racing San Sebastian. So i think he will do "good" at the Tour, considering it's his motivation.

Time will tell though
