One funny consequence of the ****ty parcours is that Basso, who was supposed to test his shape here, will have no idea about his form by the end of the race. This won't answer anything. Not even the ITT will give any indications, as even Basso on top form sucks in TT's nowadays.

Though I'm afraid most players up in the GC have a good TT in their legs. Maybe Kiryienka will try something, thus Movistar. Not because he has an aweful TT, but because he can. Or maybe.. Madrazo?!

Yeah, the course encourages TTers to come. Hopefully someone'll give it a go tomorrow though, might as well as the team-mates wont have much to do the day after.

ofcourse, and also today i thought it was ridicolous to ride. Way too much confidence in LL Sanchez.

They got lucky. But it's still funny to laugh at those quotes, especially from dwlssonic... (remember pr) who is hilarious

when you look at cavendish you can't help but think. wow, he doesn't look like a cyclist at all

More like they just rode across a local pub, met some fellow who'll be dying from a terrible disease and did him a favour by putting him a rainbow jersey on and letting him ride in front of the peleton.

Doesn't that make his palmares more rather than less impressive??

[I see what you mean though].

If Rabobank went for Mollema, than Mollema would have been leader now.

He rode the fastest sprint. If he started in LL Sanchez position he'd finish 5 bikelengths ahead and Mollema would be the leaderi n the GC
Don't think so, when finally he came into the wind he didn't gain any positions anymore.

Battery on ly laptop dies with one k to go:mad:

León Sánchez not dead yet. I hope to see that rider who once contended for stage races eventually. But step by step. Nice that he gave an answer to the trust Rabo put in him today.

seems like i didn't miss much today. . . . romandie has been really poor this year, if basso wants to test his form he will have to attack tomorrow otherwise he won't get his answer.

nice win for lulu, after a PN stage win now a Romandie stage win and in contention for winning the whole race? seems like he is slowly getting back to his old self :)

Well this might be his level. But that doesn't mean he sucks.
Sucking is finishing 65th in every race you start. For me he has been very valuable :)

well i don't think this is his real level. Him, Costa and vitor rodrigues used be be considered the most talented u23 riders portugal had produced in a long time and out of the 3 every1 game machado the edge in terms of raw talent over the other 2. But if you compare Costa and Machado now, Machado doesn't even come close to be at costa's level.

How can it be that the race organisers suck so bad at making parcourses for their race. I bet 95% of the posters here would come op with a better parcours. This race could be so much better if today was an actual mtf and tomorrow's stage finished straight in the village after the downhill. It isn't that hard. Good racing makes good publicity and history. Nobody will remember (or wants to remember) such stage races, except the one guy that one it. The riders make the race, but the parcours has to give opportunities to attacks. Seriously, most organisers are retards and as soon as Mcquaid is gone, my vote goes to Angelo Zomegnan for UCI president

Wiggins didn't look good on that climb and was cooked at the finish. Not a good sign for the next two days?

I disagree. Costa is a completely different rider. More suited to hilly classics and hilly stages.

Machado is a real stage racer and has had top 10's almost everywhere this season. I think you are too quick to judge and definitely think Machado is not much worse than Costa
