I disagree. Costa is a completely different rider. More suited to hilly classics and hilly stages.

Machado is a real stage racer and has had top 10's almost everywhere this season. I think you are too quick to judge and definitely think Machado is not much worse than Costa

he might not be much worse but he was supposed to be much better, which so far he hasn't show

i wonder if he will ride the giro now that fugslang won't. i certainly prefer it then watching him being a slave for a 50 year old man in cali. . .

his form seems to be improving so maybe he actually manages to peak for it, and if he avoids crashes and injuries on the first week (he was able to do that in the vuelta which was his second GT but missed his peak completely according to himself) maybe he can actually pull a good result.

Those guys had finished their domestique work, why would they waste energy at simply staying in the peloton for no reason? A good domestique always saves energy when possible.

Oh I fully agree.

I think thats the real difference between "UK Postal" and the old US postal, the domestiques have to save their energy for wiggo and Sky, they never did for Lance.

Yea, but merely because something else gave them back the juice they required.

Thanks for that video. Cycling looks like to be so much cooler back then, although part of that feeling will be my nostalgia. This was the Tour that really got me into cycling. Sadly the team doctor of Euskaltel left a year later.

But based on this video, I say bring back the epo.

exactky and not just the epo. also the personalities back then.

Vino was brave that day, tried to follow Lancey and the Euskatel riders, but he just did not have the legs.... at all
