Majority of teams looked like they had no idea how the finish was designed, everyone seemed surprised that it was just 200m left after they hit the final bend.
I thought that too. Bevin said in a quick itv that he was going all out for the last curve so seemed to be ready for it.

weather looks really crap as well tomorrow. Not sure they'll even do the full stage.

edit: this is what I got when I plotted tomorrow's final climb as a whole on LFR, btw. Doesn't look 100% accurate, but gives an idea at least

here's also the official weather forecast for tomorrow now. Not quite as bad as I thought, but will probably still take its toll

Looks like a really mild climbing edition of Romandie. That final climb plays right into Dennis's hands. With the final TT to come its his race to lose.

There is quite a bit more to the stage than the final climb. Sometimes that matters to the famous route critics but apparently not here.

To me, it looks like a hell of a stage profile.

I based my comment on Dennis's ride in the 2019 Tour de Swiss. On that occasion he climbed superbly on a far more mountainous route only beaten by Bernal. So I think it can only be team tactics that could overcome Dennis's ambitions on that stage profile especially as he seems in very good form. Agreed it would be very difficult to control.

It’s interesting how the overall stage profile for tomorrow shows the final two big climbs are both stair-step climbs with respites in the middle. In fact the “stairs” are each categorized as separate climbs. Hope the weather isn’t too bad because the views from that valley are gorgeous!

Dennis has been better than any point since the Stelvio taxi pull that won the Giro for TGH. Not just strong but sharp punchy accelerations and able to jump on any move that merits covering.

I also think that Dennis can win the race but that is not the route's fault. He has all the skills to win a race like this. And if anything, he is unfortunate with the route given that the last stage is a rare MTT.

Could be a complete nothingburger but could also be a really great stage. My earlier comment was more about thinking the first 3 road stages, especially today, would be more selective based on the original profiles when I didn't have the details.

I'm never really into Romandie like the other WT stage races, and it tends to have these sorta odd mountain stages.

Only 50 seconds left for the break so looks like the bunch is going hard on the climbs. Bahrain is pulling.
