What a grat rider Higuita is. I remerber the smile he showed me here at my town, when he was stiill in a Contineltal team. It was no so long ago,...In that race it was Mancebo riding,,much older than Valverde. It was clear Higuita will be the rider is today, but difficult to shine more with this amazing generation.

By the way, Bora should definitely send some beers to Plapp as a thank you, very weird move to pull Rubio back for...nothing? I guess he thought he might get a gap but in a headwind with about 30 riders still there...meh.

He's young and measuring himself against WT riders as a captain for the first time, can't blame him for trying.

This really is one of the worst WT stage races, both in course (or how it's ridden) and its place on the calendar. Cramped in between the Ardennes and the Giro which doesn't make it an ideal race for riders whose goal are either one of those 2.
