His form is good but he has stated he had troubles recovering after LBL.
Still, his results in this race were good until today, compared to all the other guys who rode LBL he did really good in the opening ITT.
That said, what is the team doing with him before the Giro, do they want him to be totally cooked after the first week?

He isn‘t on the provisional start list of the Giro which already has the starting numbers so I assume a change of plans has been made.

But he wasn't happy with his performance in the prologue and cited fatigue as the reason why he underperformed.

What a big win it would be for Juan Ayuso if he bags the Tour de Romandie at age 20 after his Vuelta podium. Where does he go from there? But first things first :) .

Tomorrow's Queen Stage should give the key to victory: behind him in the GC, no solid climber until Yates at 30", Caruso is just behind Yates, I don't believe in Barta or Mader to win the whole thing. It's pretty clear cut with decent team support.

There's a small group with the likes of Pinot, Herrada, and Bardet who can realistically top-5 the GC when it's all said and done, and that is an interesting sub-plot. I will watch them. Bardet blew it in the ITT, but he's in good form and his '23 vintage is aggressive. Herrada is the guy who always seems to be in Pinot's way, but that final climb seems like ideal for Pinot, at least on the paper. His form ahead of Il Giro? We'll see.

Sobrero was really the negative surprise of the day. Looking at the last Giro and the 2021 Italian NC he's actually good in hilly TTs and his form is good atm, but today he just didn't do well.

No real surprise as he's over-raced - Riders who did the Ardennes triple are not firing in Romandie - Anyway he's been pulled from the Giro and will be at the TDF.

For a guy in pain, that was not a bad day at the TT for Ayuso. It seems Ineos picked the wrong Spanish next big rider.
Hope the weather does not causes problems up the big climb as a lot of guys are looking for a good result at Romandie.

With a nasty surprise after only 4 km there will be a some guys looking at a long day today. All depends on how Ayuso feels - Yates might well be UAE's first choice for the stage.

Aren't you forgetting Jorgenson? The way he was climbing in Paris-Nice, he is a big threat. Especially if Ayuso really is struggling on the climbs and it isn't just a smokescreen.

He may very well be, but I think he'd need to do much better than in Paris Nice. He hardly finished in the Top 10 there and was dropped by Mäder both climbing days.

Riders with beautiful wives not happy this morning.

If that's on top of the Thyon 2000 - as I would assume - it's not gonna be a problem; they're not gonna ride their bikes down again. Well, they might have to roll down to their buses, if there's no space on top of the mountain.

Foss and Gesink are both down for the Giro, so with Kuss already called up from the Tour team, Jumbo are having problems - maybe not at the Giro but it could have a knock on effect to the Tour.
