Fausto Masnada now 19th overall , he moved into the top 20 on gc with today performance. And helped his team mate win. Tomorrow hopefully attack.
I guess tomorrow will be a sprint between 30 riders (or so)/a late attack from that reduced group. Can't see anyone with gc ambitions go on a serious long range attack before the ITT and the MTF.

Thomas attacked with Bananito last time they used this finale (four years ago) and got caught at like 200 metres from the line, so it's certainly not out of the question.

Which is not out of the question: attacking from afar . . . Or getting caught at the line? Or perhaps both ;):)

So the 4 Jumbo riders had a gap 15km from the finish and decided not to continue towards a stage win and possible GC time gain. Why not continue, makes no sense? They went for a useless points sprint and then just gave Quickstep the win. And there's no way the peloton catches up to a 4 man Jumbo TT in full commitment mode.

They were sprinting for bonus seconds!
Of course, there was a major flaw in that plan.

Brenner said prior to the race that his intense back exercises haven't resulted in any progress but gets lined up here regardless and, of course, almost finishes dead last. Why is he here?

So, according to Foss, Jumbo heard that there were bonus seconds.
Do we know someone didn't play a prank? Just... starting the rumour that there were bonus seconds, and waiting to see if anyone would take the bait.

Impressive finish from Bardet, Nys also with a great second place. A shame that Vernon won't likely race a Grand Tour this season because he is a big talent, fast and climbs better than both Jakobsen and Merlier.

he will get therapy in May at a German treatment center, so hopefully that'll come with a bit of progress - but no idea why he is doing Romandie, yeah. He took "a break from racing" before, but only to end up on Mt Teide for three weeks instead.

He said on IG that he was helping Dainese, perhaps he could've finished in the front group otherwise?
Dainese's schedule is a joke itself.
