So you think QS and Remco didn't want to win the Romandie if they could? You're joking, right? How is that plausible? He isn't good enough it's as simple as that.

who knows what QS are smoking.

There is no reason why Remco was doing the pacing today. None

He should have finished with Carolos Rodrigues today, not nursing Lecerf

Does he? Vine is the better TT'er
That's not really true. Both can ride a TT that is very close to the best GC TT'ers. But both can also ride TT's that are subpar. They both have a fairly high TT ceiling, but neither is very consistent imho.

Historically, Almeida has finished ahead a lot more in H2H.

Fortunato would need to do the TT of his life to win GC, Almeida has to be the favourite but Vine also has a chance.
Yeha, he would have to put in a performance a million times better than what he can do, lol. No chance at all of even staying on the podium.

This is Remco's style of climbing. He is pacing himself.

About to say Vine has beaten Almeida twice vs seven for Almeida. Only way Vine overcomes Almeida is if his form is declining or a crash/mechanical.

Surely it's not that difficult to understand. He was not good enough, he knew he wasn't good enough. So instead of finishing 9th at 1m10 on the day, he helped out Lecerf and finished 11th at 1m29. He wasn't going to win GC, so he had nothing to lose (he doesn't care whether he finished 5th or 7th in GC). Just try and win the TT now.

Martinez foolish to do a turn because Almeida will pull regardless
seems like it was Almeida who was foolish in that regard--if he refused to work and they slowed then Vine would come back to them, allowing them to do the 1-2 attacks toward the finish. I don't know if that would have changed the result but wouldn't that have been the proper strategy?

What i love about Vine is he gives no F#$&s about results. Does what he's told, takes his paycheque and goes home. The way he played chicken with Fortunado was spectacular when he was still totally within a shout of the final overall GC
