Don't let his hunch back posture and wire thin upper body fool you. He has massive thighs.Jonas would never (hit the gym).

I've never seen an interview with Impey where he doesn't look as if he's about to deck the interviewer
You don't need to hit the gym if you have muscles from kitchen renovation.Jonas would never (hit the gym).
Just always comes across very defensive and a bit on edge. It may well just be his tone and accent in fairnessWell, the truth is in the eye of the beholder, but to me it didn't look like an imminent decking was about to be carried out.
Yeah, I saw this IDL:VPP says the Swiss are heping Pog to win

Again and again and once again: draft doesn't work uphill at 20km/hr when the moto is that far away. From what little footage I could get the same circumstance existed for Roglic and the Squeaky wheel.UCI are in the pocket. They don't not care, they want this to happen
That may well be the issue. And not only in relation to motorbikes.UCI are in the pocket. They don't not care, they want this to happen
Break out the Ozempic!Pogacar said after the stage something along the lines of “I’m carrying extra weight.” But he already knows that. To compete in the Classics, he has to put on weight, build muscle.
Now it’s about reversing that process, because for the Tour de France it’s a different story. But he and UAE know exactly what they’re doing. One less baguette during training and the problem sorts itself out quickly.
I don't doubt that he's a super-strong rider in terms of watts. My point is that, given his skill set and his strengths, it will be difficult for him to win major races.I think that's unfair, he's come a long way in the past 12 months and he hasn't been in a race with just that lot since. Besides, Almeida in a one week race is probably as good as it gets outside Vingegaard/Pogacar/Seixas, and a realistic place for him to be.
At the end of the day, Lipowitz can produce more watts more consistently than almost all his non-alien competitors. I don't see how he wouldn't be able to drop them at least once in the course of a one week or three week stage race. Fwiw, ai do think Bora should send him to a race without the aliens to get him in the position of favourite and controlling the race, and see if he can convert.
Fairly certain he's talking about before the climb mainly, when they go 40-50 kph a lot and where it makes a significant difference.Again and again and once again: draft doesn't work uphill at 20km/hr when the moto is that far away. It's just a fact that the lead guy will have a moto in front of him as does every major pack within the race. These Swiss roads are perfect but narrow in spots so it's possible they get closer to the riders on the twisty climbs. It's happening to each group.
The last few Remco and Pogacar wins the motos were conspicuously well ahead of them. If there was a cabal of aero cheating Maestros they aren't very consistent.
So why taking digs on Pogacar? If what he is saying is true, Godon (Ineos) was the most benefited rider. UAE wasn't targetting the win in both stages, VPP is mentioning.Fairly certain he's talking about before the climb mainly, when they go 40-50 kph a lot and where it makes a significant difference.
Did Pogacar not try to win 2 days ago? UAE were chasing before the climb and then Red Bull take over on the climb IIRC, with Ineos only showing up once Godon came back.So why taking digs on Pogacar? Ineos was working all day to get a Godon win. UAE did their usual job of controlling the break in the beginning but that's it.Did Pogacar not try to win 2 days ago? UAE were chasing before the climb and then Red Bull take over on the climb IIRC, with Ineos only showing up once Godon came back.
But my point is he hasn't raced against only non mutants since last spring at Paris-Nice and Itzulia, and the latter was peak form Almeida. It's obvious he has improved since then – he went into those races as an outsider, not as a favourite as he would do now.I don't doubt that he's a super-strong rider in terms of watts. My point is that, given his skill set and his strengths, it will be difficult for him to win major races.
When mutants are in the race, he seems to be the one who can keep up with them for the longest time when riding behind. This is actually helping him to achieve better results. But when there are no mutants, you never see him motor away from the second-tier riders. He has tried many times in the past, but has never been able to pull away decisively. There’s a reason why he has only three wins, coming from the Czechia and Romania. His racing lacks flair.
Vervaeke went into a bit more detail in another interview, likely referring to the sameThe second stage VPP is mentioning (the stage Godon won), UAE was controlling the break due to Steinhauser but the moto wasn't too close at all. I just rewinded my tv and there is nothing extraordinary. Moto is 2-3" in front all the time (30m in front like it always happens). It was Roglic/RB who "closed" the gap, UAE was just controlling the gap. Later, Ineos and Lidl helped to catch the break. One thing is certain, if it was just UAE working, the break would succeed.
Leysin, archetypal Tour de Romandie conditions, featuring a young Cadel and a Frigo!
What a joke. Is he referring to when his team leader changed bike in Kigali and gained 50" in 6 km?Vervaeke went into a bit more detail in another interview, likely referring to the same
