You do realize that San Luis isn't in the US??? Based on your post it's quite possible you may not know what country you're currently in.

That said, I'm sure all of them are on approximately the same level of disassembly considering January

You're wrong. OPQS was confident that Levi could WIN stage 3, so it was clear right then that he was in much better shape than Contador.

I love how everyone says Menchovs' ITT owned but he still finished a longggggg way down. Of course he would have won the TDF if there was another long ITT ( if Contador and Andy kept on fooling around in the mountains and Samu crashed ) but still... Compare that to Evans who this year finished 7 seconds off Martin ( after going easy ).

As jens and others have already pointed out Menchov (and the other contenders) were riding into a major headwind.

But the other major point is that Cadel's tt was very hilly.

The one above in Bordeaux was PAN FLAT.

You expect gc contenders to do much better against Cancellaras and Tony Martins of this world in up and down tts just like you expect them to do better in LBL than Paris Roubaix.

And we should bare in mind the Grenoble tt came after 2 heavy MTF stages so recovery all the more important than when it comes after a sprint stage (with a mtf and then a rest day on the 2 preceeding days).

Tony Martin was trashed. He did the same tt in JUne in worse conditions and beat his July time by 20 seconds.

No, mate. I just was very surprised how categorical you was on such a debatable question. :)In my mind you're being VERY facetious, posting the result of Annecy TT as though nobody knows this.

I did not post the results of Annency tt you tool. Read posts before you make stupid comments.

I posted the results of Grenoble and Algarve last year :rolleyes:

It was airstream who brought this topic up not me.

The Hitch, the theory about Contador whos stronger TT'er than Evans is still valid?

But I was wondering from the moment he posted it, where is roundabout to try and find a way to blame me for it.

Even then I didnt engage in the discussion I just told him the discussion had not changed since OCtober, but he continued to attack me,

And yet its all my fault

Why isn't he wearing the leaders jersey????

Keep the advantage of a good skinsuit.
Not sure the race provides skinsuit in his size or at least, not as good as his own one.

Do you have a point?

I respond to posts addressed to me.

What is the problem in that? How is that whinging? Its a forum, for discussion and yet your only contribution is insulting me for taking part in the discussion.

You seem to just be baiting. Trolling.

Alberto's performance on the TT is clear testament that the TT is not his real forte. Yes, he is a good TTer for such a mountain goat, but he always has really aweful TT days. With AC and TTs it's always a box of chocolates: You never know what you're going to get. Which is good, don't get me wrong. He is going to attack everywhere at the 2012 TdF. It's going to be one of the best TdF in years.

The problem is that you're too quick to use the words trolling, blaming, abuse, attack, baiting while pretending that you're an innocent victim of some sort of vicious attack.

And of course you post about a "smackdown" of some sort is not baiting because the other guy had the nerve to "start it first"...

Im not quick to use those words I use them very rarely.

This is the first time I have called airstream a troll whereas there were threads last year where everyone was doing it.

And I called it a smackdown not because he started it but because I found a post that totaly contradicts the post he just made.

I changed it 2 seconds later anyway.

If the race doesn't provide a leader-skinsuit one you don't have to wear a leader's jersey, you can choose to wear your normal team skinsuit.

He's not a TT specialist, but he's won too many TTs in the past years to say he's not one of the best time trialists in the peloton today. Getting 6th in a TT is hardly awful, it's just a sign that when he's not quite where he needs to be in terms of form he can still win an uphill finish, but not a time trial.

Levi is such a weird rider... he's smaller than Purito, yet quite "heavy" for his size, kind of a dwarf Cancellara who can climb.

lol a dwarf canc :p he is indeed a weird rider. isn't his body shape also very weird which is what allows him to use such an extreme position on a tt bike?
