Kuba won. He did what he was asked for when he came to argentina
Viviani? Not so much. In fact, he disrespected italia by not going to the podium. Many won't appreciate his pathetic gesture and coward attitude. Might not wear azzura this year.

But it would be wrong, he can be a good lead out.

I know your nto serious but Viviani is a terrible lead out man, just like Pelucchi and Guardini. The Italians have a lot of fast guys their WC selection will be interesting (besides these 3 they have Nizzolo, Bonifazio, in a less extend Felline and I am probably forgetting some).
Most of them however suck as lead out guys so they should certainly bring guys like Trentin, Oss and maybe Guarnieri/Pozzato and some firepower on the flat who keeps the leaders out of the wind like Quinziato/Bennati. It will not be easy making their team thats for sure.

Mareczko will likely be the leader for the U23 squad

Yes, Marczeko said that the U23 WC is one of his big goals before the start of the season, he'd need a great season to become one of the main guys for the Italian team.
It may sound strange because he has never shown that he can handle the distance, but Guardini has a history of doing well in those desert races, he likes the heat and he was impressive in the crosswinds in Qatar last year, so I'd select him for the WC if he has some kind of form.
I don't know if Viviani will be the main man at the WC, track at the OG will be his main goal after the Giro, so I don't know if he'll be in decent shape at the end of the season.
It was a huge win for a young sprinter like Marczeko, Scinto already called him stronger than Guardini before the start of the season.
Haters gonna hate:
