Cannondale sucks again in TTT. But with Ben King they could have finished 5th maybe. That required only 6 secs better time.

I thought the same thing. Finishing behind UnitedHealth is a bit of an embarrassment for a team that has prided itself on their TTT prowess.

Once upon a time as someone else allready mentioned.
Currently they just don't have the riders for a good TTT.

Yep. They have improved a little on paper since last year at the TTT, but not by a huge amount. And much of the paper improvement isn't going to be of practical help in most TTTs this year anyway, because they are hardly going to send a team including all of Uran, Wippert, Mullen, Bevin etc to many races.

I agree. Joseph Chavarria beat all the Venezoleans in Tachira, los Ticos are on fire at the moment. The Rojas brothers were not as thermonuclear as 2014 at the last Vuelta, so they might have something still left in the tank for San Luis.

Tinkov really flew on the last 10 km
Still 30 sec on diaz/torres is not much

Hmm, looking at photos, Tinkoff didn't have TT helmets. And not even TT handlebars (all other WT teams had them).

That's pretty unprofessional. With that bars alone they could be 15 seconds faster.

Yeah, that's strange with the bars. Helmets varied, most teams also had normal or aero ones, but forgetting TT bars? I mean, smaller races in distant parts of the world sometimes regulate that normal bikes must be used for TTs, so perhaps they assumed that no TT equipment is needed. Or they just do not care about the GC.

They definitely did not forget. They just chose to ride without the clip-on TT bars. Probably was not worth the effort as the GC is not their priority.

Plus adding even the clip-on bars requires adjustments to the bike position to make it count. Also moving the seatpost height and saddle position to make it more aero would take some testing and adjustments to be powerful and efficient.

That being said, some riders are not even able to match their power output in the TT position so while you are getting the aero benefits, you may be losing power if you are not used to the TT position.

They should probably ride with aero helmets, but again, this is just a fun way to get training miles in and they do not care about the TTT or GC results.

Right now the TV coverage isn't too bad, almost on the same level as the 2015 Tour of Utah.

Without the useful info of the Tour Tracker. Acceptable quality though, better than the static cams from previous years, as odd as it may sound.

2'30 for Sivori, Godoy and a Japanese guy with 11 Km to go.

so either the numbers weren't accurate or the peloton cut their lead in half in 9 km, and are on pace to catch them. I mean, I guess the 'ten seconds per km' rule might be much higher with lower-level riders in the breakaway - it's not like they're trying to catch Luis Leon Sanchez and Thomas Voeckler or something.
