Yes they are doomed.

Now I'm just reduced to hoping that Sky don't win. As a preference I'd like to see Sagan not win either, even though I like him, but it's probably too much to hope that neither of the teams who chased win.

It was effectively a two man break at the at that point.

This is true. They could easily have sit back and waited for Liquigas to bring it back for Sagan, like other teams do when Cav is in the race.

Farrar screwed up a corner there, lost too much speed and effectively reduced it to a three man sprint.

And I'd bet on Sagan to beat the likes of Swift and Cooke every time.
