Completely agree. It's by far the least impressive 'big' race for me. It kind of feels like the international friendlies that take place in football between the end of the club season and before the world cup starts.

ASO is killing this race. All these TdF stages that are tested in Dauphine make the Dauphine worthwhile to the star riders.

I myself would always choose for Suisse cause the hotels in Suisse are miles better than the *** they have to sleep in in France

Its honestly just a race for 3rd tier riders, GC-riders that is. That can also be very interesting tho, I was pretty intrigued to see how Soler, Betancur, Izagirre, Lopez etc. were doing, but when you've just seen Dauphine its pretty meh

It's not too close to the Tour. The favorites just prefer to race in France to prepare the Tour. Sometimes it even contains some of the same climbs. I feel nostalgic to Jan Ullrich's epic one second victory over Fabian Jeker. It can be a good option for someone who wants to avoid a direct confrontation with his rivals and have a less stressfull preparation.

It used to be the biggest one-week stage race not so long ago. Can't compete with ASO

6th stage looks a bit like first mountain trip on Giro where Polanc surprised everyone

So i see the decent chance for decent climber in decent breakaway for tomorrow
Pantano maybe

I think someone said that profile is maybe a bit deceptive and that last climb is more of a really long false flat than anything interesting. I don't know the stats for it though. Could still be the break though.

The other main contender for most prestigious one week race is Paris-Nice, but the historically less important Tirreno-Adriatico has managed to catch up with it in term of field and often eclipse it despite PN being an ASO race. The ASO has pull, but there is more to the decline of the Tour de Suisse than that.

You could have a point if the organizers hadn't *** up the profile. The finish is downhill, as you can see by comparing the height of the finish line and the height of the KOM point.

This stage, with hard climbing and a technical descent finish, is tailor made for Pantano. This is his chance to get something for himself before falling into the service on Contador for a month.

As for the GC, I think Kruijswick will prove himself the strongest over the next couple of days.
