I wonder what cyclists would make a good football team.

Goalkeeper: Dario Pieri - so fat, you can't pass him
Right back: Jens Voigt - he will keep going the entire match
Left back: Andre Greipel - fast, but not good enough to be a winger
Centre backs: Fabian Cancellara and Tom Boonen - strong sturdy men
Defensive midfielder: Cadel Evans - a real aggresive pitbull who might chew of Messi's head.
Left winger: Mark Cavendish - explosive and fast, maybe a bit selfish though
Right winger: Oscar Freire -more of a teamplayer than Cavendish
Attacking midfielder: Alberto Contador - the playmaker, the best player on the field
Support striker: Robert Gesink - can hold up a ball and set someone else up for the goal (just like in cycling...)
Striker: Alejandro Valverde - can do anything and scores loads of goals, doped or not.

Gesink would get too many yellow or red cards for schwalbes...

No he would be an injury phrone.

I left out Fränk Schleck because of that, and Andy doesn't really want to play without Fränk so I let him out as well.
I thought Pharmstrong would make a good striker but he doesn't want to play with Contador so he was also dropped.

Alternative for Gesink would be Vansummeren or de Greef, but both have far less potential. :D

I think I'd take Steegmans as a striker. Relaxed on the ball, strong, and a real team player.

Which streams are people watching. SportItalia is what I'm watching because it actually shows something (when the race is on, not yet). Is there a better stream? One in English?

You cannot have a Midfielder that nobody likes in the team & keep "whining" all the time about how the other teams "don't play fair" :D

You have to have a place for Amets Txurruka. Perhaps the holding midfielder, because he will run himself into the ground chasing everything and everybody.

Yeah. The Tour de Suisse.
Kinda has the half time effect on people.

Still, only ten and a half months until the Giro.

'We should see a big shack up in the overall today'

The cyclingnews ticker with a freudian slip...

To whom are they referring I wonder?:)

Txurruka is an impact sub, surely? Send him on with 10 minutes to go if the situation is absolutely desperate. He will either score or get sent off.

I think I've got a serious case of Post-Giro Syndrome... Just can't get excited about this.
