Looks like an absolutely amazing last stage. That route-design, british repechos. <3 Some of the same for the WC, por favor, make the sprinters cry.
A stage like that would be tailor-made for Bala.

Well TG he is not riding or just another walk in the park

See the list above from last year ....some very good roulers there who would have made it exciting ...Pity Geraty didnt spend more time getting the names and less time swanning around the world with Prudhomme like a couple of royalty at far flung WT races

Søren Kragh in decent shape would be a top contender in this race. But he went on a small vacation after the cobbled classics, so perhaps he needs some time to find his legs again.

Yes and I think he is more suited for Ardennes type races anyway even though Gent-Wevelgem was impressive. He attacked and opened a gap on the hard hill a couple of minutes ago so seems he is in some kind of shape.

Could also have been a race for the real Magnus Cort that sadly appears to have been replaced by a meaningless sprinter type cyclist. I blame team management.

I agree. Cort really evolved into a boring rider, but like you said... blame it on the managers. But he was never good on steep hills. Not even in Tour of Denmark.

Peloton is back together again in the headwind.

nasty crash too

Nice win by Groenewegen.
Got a bit annoyed with the Danish commentator, though. He seemed to be more concerned with whether or not the Orica rider who crashed was Cort - it was - than with whether or not the rider - whoever it was - was badly injured. I don't count it as 'badly injured' when the rider is able to sit up right after the crash.

The Danish commentator is practically blind during the race.

Broken collarbone for Cort it seems.

Damned shame; frankly a damned shame that he was being wasted in this race as a slave for Little Mr Showboat .... who despite his theatrics got his colours lowered quite clearly by Groenewegen.

Hope Cort gets a proper recovery and is sent to the Vuelta again. He and Edmondson are the the young quick men (classics men with sprint potential) that ORS should be investing in.

It was a case of deja vu with Groenewegen outsprinting Ewan - Expect more of the same tomorrow - Bad crash for Cort, though he wasn't down to ride the Giro.

GC is wide open - hard to pick a winner.

My guess is Froome will ride Yorkshire if British Cycling allow a four day tour in 2018.

Wtf is steven doing here anyway? Bad idea, i had a bad feeling when i saw him on the startlist yesterday
I'm guessing TLJ didn't get invited to Asturias, and Romandie or Trentino aren't favoured by Crushweak.

Kruijswijk also started here last year. Finished 5th on GC if I remember correctly?
Well we all know how he performed in the Giro last year.

Kruijswijk honestly should be able to win stage 3 this year tho and win overall. Weak competition and super hard parcours, stage 3 that is
You had me looking at the stage 3 profile of the Giro for a bit
Lol. That stage >>>> L-B-L. Also a lot better designed than the Tour-stage, imagine if they had gone with this.

What theatrics? I saw nothing theatrical. And he was clearly gaining on Groenewegen at the end.
