I personally don't think it will be mcewen's day, he doesn't have the top end speed of some of the other sprinters. Why he gets some good placings is because he is good at positioning himself. Something griepel is not. He has a whole leadout train and seems to lose them in the sprint and have to come from a fair way back. I think Hendo is good with his positioning and has a bigger top end speed and he could be the one to take today's stage if they get it right. i hope BMC with kohler and hincapie can give Wyss a proper leadout because he is quite quick and has a big kick in the sprint. In both sprints he came from a long way back and was catching up to some other sprinters in the finish.

I think Wilunga will be for mcewen.

I also think McEwen's lacking the top end. Not sure he'll get it back. He looks pretty good on the bike: maybe he'll win the last stage if the planets align. Doubt it, though.

Greipel won last time he did Willunga (and he was absolutely flying!). If it all comes together, I can't see that changing. I don't think Greipel's positioning is bad, so much as his lead out. That road down from McLaren Vale to Willunga is perfect for setting up the sprinters - so I doubt it will be a drama for him.

As for today? Can't go past HTC again.

Their is going to be some head to cross to head winds once we get to 45km to go.

Columbia are catching them to soon. There will be some counter attacks!

Timing in the sprint will be crucial today...

If anyone is following the Cycling News live feed - I'm the John who sent an e-mail quoting a tweet from 21 hours ago. They seem to have missed the subject line, where I said the tweet about the chest infection and being on antibiotics was by Allan Davis. The Spanish fans had inquired about his disappointing performance.

Edit: Just got an e-mail from Les Clarke after my follow-up. He edited on the fly and thought he'd mentioned it was from Davis.

Still waiting for my account to be deleted as requested. Bye

I don't think Greipel will be able to stick with Valverde up Willunga, that sort of hill is Valverde's specialty. Imagine the outcry if he goes on to win!

There will be riots in the streets of Adelaide. Someone will push him off his bike if he looks like he's going to win...:D
