Goss is 2nd in the provisional overall so he must have got the same time.

Ya, he was in the crash with 4km to go but got up and rejoined the peloton by the 3km mark, it was said.

Bernie Sulzberger broken collarbone, there goes his chances of a contract =/

This sucks. :(

A lot of carnage it seems. Hope they show all of the last 3-5km on the highlights unlike last night.

Its good to see so many Aussies out there in breakaways too. Guess for most its their only chance.

Did anyone see pictures of what happened? Sounds like the first was on a corner, possibly due to Team Sky riders at the front crashing causing those behind to go into them. The one just before the end involved Meyer and Sulzberger i think (apologies if someone has already said this)

Amazing 2 hours after the finish and still no one can tell you the top10... WorldTour race in name only.

Its always like this...what a joke!

Yesterday they had the photo up after about an hour so you could tell the top10 from that, maybe the SBS highlights package will win the race today!

Farrar, Cav, Sutton all lost big time in the finish and are far behind on gc now. That is the update from Stu Randall.

It sounds like Sky put in some serious training during the off season. No easing into the season this year. They came ready to crash out the field in their first race.

It's all about playing to your strengths... if crashing is your main asset then they might as well use it to get an advantage.

Well sky were on the front supposedly so they may have done so. I think it may have been similar to the CCC where the crash split the field to a lesser extent this time.

I don't see how Thomas could of got the gap on the sprinters like Mcewen brown and others.

It was Swift who won wasnt it? He's a good sprinter although maybe he benefitted from the crash at the end.

Also says a bit about the strength of their team when they can lose their 1. and 2. sprinter and still win the bunch sprint with their 3.

1:Ben SWIFT (GBR) - SKY PRO CYCLING, 2:Robbie McEWEN (AUS) - TEAM RADIOSHACK, 3:Graeme BROWN (AUS) - RABOBANK, 4:Romain FEILLU (FRA) - VACANSOLEIL DCM PRO CYCLING TEAM, 5:Jürgen ROELANDTS (BEL) - OMEGA PHARMA-LOTTO, 6:Francesco CHICCHI (ITA) - QUICK STEP, 7:Michael MATTHEWS (AUS) - RABOBANK, 8:Denis GALIMZYANOV (RUS) - KATUSHA 9:Francisco VENTOSO (ESP) - MOVISTAR TEAM, 10:Allan DAVIS (AUS) - ASTANA

Swift is quick but I doubt he would of beat these guys without a gap.

It says that to win they need to crash out the other sprinters.

12th - Mori
13th - Viviani? (can't see the number).
