Davis won in a bunch sprint last year. I don't think that Greipel will lose anything on the climb.

When Davis is on form he can climb pretty well for a sprinter. Griepel i don't think he can. A lot of teams are going to try and split it up because Greipel is too dominant in a bunch sprint. A group of 30 will make it to the finish. Their will be splits and lots of attacks as well.

wyss was trying to go in between mcewen and brown and then he came acroos and pushed him into davis. Wyss was already boxed in but brown pushed him across the road. i'll send you the link for the sprint.
handorf stage finish watch from 5mins and watch how brown pushes across stopping Wyss come through. He also cuts him earlier in the sprint but it is hard to see through the trees.

i was agreeing with you! thought mcewen and henderson was fair game nothing wrong with that but brown was out of order, its a regular occurence.

for today, im going to go slightly absurd and say ben swift- he can climb and also sprint, so IF (a big IF) griepel and a few sprinters get dropped, he could give it a go. but would need a lot of circumstances to go his way. but you never know.

id also like to see an euskatel rider win

i know you were agreeing with me:)! I was thinking possibly Hincapie if many of the sprinters get dropped and a group goes away. i would personally like to see a non sprinter get away going solo. It would make the overall race more interesting!

if you want shameful reporting look at this article (I find the heading quite ironic).
Armstrong enjoys the speed

In general the amount of reporting and articles on lance makes me feel sick.

Cycling central is officially a joke.

Agreed - whilst I enjoy Ligget's voice and the SBS coverage is all we have (ie better than none) - the constant referring to Armstrong is starting to grate.

Been thinking the appearance fees LA has commanded could have been put to good use keeping the MTB program going. :-/

At least the article linked above allows for the comment response :-D

so 2/1 and hendo etc are out at 10/1?

Bizarre..

so 7/4 on etc is .6 ish..? weird system.. :D

7/4 is 1.75.

The system is quite easy to understand really, I'll try and explain with my limited English. 2.1 means that you get 2.10 pounds if you bet 1 pound and win, leaving you with a 1.10 pound win. 10.0 means you get 10 pounds for a 1 pound bet if you win, leaving you with a 9 pound win.

The 'article' doesnt even make sense. Nowhere in it does LA say "I like the speed". He does say that he likes the speed when hes at the front, but admits hes sitting ~40 riders into the peloton.

I suspect there is a quota for LA articles every day, so they just take random crap and write it up.

ey..? so

2.1 is pretty much evens..
10.0 is 9/1

so to be odds on it has to be under 2.0
the old way is simpler.. :D

has todays breakway gains 9 minutes, race comes back together, main field splits in two, riders sprint at the end, started yet?

Of course he has...

Remember that other Lance thread we had the other day, "Lance got a Flat Tire"? Well, in it, it was revealed that Lance (you may want to brace yourself), in addition to being the totally uber cyclist that he is, has somehow figured out how to fix flats and inflate tires using CO2 cartridges!

Crazy I know. But it just goes to show that we shouldnt be surprised that he reentered the race after a flat. He really doesnt need the support car anyway, dont know why its even there to be honest.

So its been 10 minutes on ABC radio with Ligget and I dont think hes mentioned Lance once. Which is nice.

On the other hand hes telling stories about how he bought land with a bunch of birds on it, Hippo's come to his back door, and how his friend got chased by a lion while MTBing.

Why cant they talk about the race?

Obviously this will be part of the highlights package, so let's run a competition on what Paul says about it.

"This man with all his experience look how calm he is. Other riders may get carried away during a flat tire, but not Lance Armstrong, he really is a master of overcoming anything the tarmac throws at him".

the radio commentator appeared to say "re-penetrated" the pelaton.. sadly i have no rewind on internet radio..

I really am getting bored to hearing people referred to as LA's teammate, LA's former teammate, LA's freind etc..

At least now with a bunch of aussies attacking they are getting excited.. so excited they have gone to the news.. bad crash apparently in adalaide, not the race.. god forbid anything exciting would happen..

Hincapie is the worst... You'd never know he was racing for BMC who will very much be trying to serve it up to RadioShack as the both have similar goals (Classics, GTs).

he knows you're thinking about LA so he doesn't need to.

he'll do it once you aren't. that's why he's phil liggett and we're not calling play-by-play for 7-hour games.
