That's really gotta sting Greipel. If he can't win crits in January with a perfect leadout, it may be a long year.
I personally think it is due to the fact that Kittel is just so good. Greipel will be desperate for revenge in coming days.

Luckily, Kittel will be dropped in almost every stage, so no problem there.

He's been climbing at same level as Greipel at Tour. Better than Cavendish as well..

Speed relative to the C listers was good but not supersonic - Greipel just didn't have any real punch in his legs for some reason.

Have you checked the profile? First three stages, no chance, while Ewan given his characteristics should do well on stages 1 & 2.

You were talking about Tdu? Ohhh :D Thought about overall climbing abilites of Kittel, Greipel and Cav compared :D

Yeah... stage 4 and stage 6 are the only chances at sprints.

Stage 2 could be a sprint as well, I think Greipel got close there once. But that one seems to be perfect for Ewan.

Well Corckscrew climb ( stage 2 ) is harder than the hill they climb on stage 1 so not sure. Depends how they ride it.

Wonder why GreenEdge didn't show? Scared to put Goss and Bling up there with the two big boys.

That's stage 3. Stage 2 is the finish where Slagter won last year, and Matthews won before. I see Ewan as a kind of Matthews.

Alaphilippe can do well in stage 1 and 2 too. Ewan definetly better sprinter, but Alaphilippe very strong uphill finisher too

This is going to be a pretty boring year in terms of sprinting. I really hope Cav can fight wit Kittel, because the German is so strong. Look how easy he beat Greipel.

Ewan well placed, even more difficult while he has no team mates left in the finale. Ferrari even doesn't come to sprinting.

Goss and Bling simply won't match it with the big boys of world sprinting. They also probably saving their legs to try to get Gerro over the line.

Good plan imo. No reason to spend resources on very small chances. Certainly not in a pre-WT crit race.

It's not like Sutton ever actually had a chance, did he?

He did crash/ is quite good at crits.

I liked the Lampre jersey.

Great ride by Ewan and Kittel basically did the sprint all by himself. Looking forward to the rest of the sprints.

Lucky that the race isn't so hard they can just roll around without jeopardising the rest of their season.

I can understand going off at Goss, though i still have faith, but Matthews:confused:

He could be up to Degenkolb's level

Which is nowhere close Greipel/Kittel/Cavendish.

I'm curious if any other sprinter can go to Cav/Greipel/Kittel level this year. My bets would be one of the young french guys(Demare or Coquard). I also have faith in one of my personal favourites Guardini...:D(probably wishful thinking)

I've only seen a five min. highlight video, but it looked like Roelandts came to the front to soon, but i don't know if thats's really the case or just what the editor made it seem like.
