If there's any GT that Weening could do well in, it's this year's Giro. Maybe he's finally going to be what we all once thought he would be: our new GT contenderBarrus said:but for the GC, I don't really think so. Hell, I hope he does really well, Dutch pride and all that. But I have my doubts. BTW did I read somewhere in this thread that Sagan will go to California? I thought that Liquigas wanted to save him and not let him race to much because he still needed to develop. At least that was the reason they didn't sent him to the Tour of Turkey

For some reason, I hate the word "cloggy". Maybe because I've never seen a wooden shoe in my life.Moondance said:Mollema is a very good talent (former Tour d'Avenir winner) who has had very limited racing and results with the pros. Any Cloggy who was expecting much out of him in the Giro was a little deluded. He was never a Top 10 competitor, or even a threat to get there.
Its a little unfair to him to say he's the "Rabobank leader" for the Giro... Yes, barring a revival of Ardila's old form he'll likely finish highest up on the GC, but that will probably be in the 15-25th range. He's doing this for experience, and there was never serious expectation. "Excited to see what Mollema can do" (which is what most Dutchies have been saying) does not mean "I think he'll Top 10"...
He obviously still not in peak shape. My guess is that he'll be looking to grow throughout the Giro.
