Tour 2011?

You're right about the crash, he did absolutely nothing before the crash last season and that included LBL.

It is painful to watch such a talent turn into a wastrel :(

His 2011 season was average to me, dumb tactics at Liege and dumb tactics (and statements) for 20 days at TdF. Just one historic day, Galibier, but was shadowed because of many poor decisions. Andy 2011 wasn't at 100% neither. ;)

Great win for Greipel. Looking at the duel Cav-Greipel

Unfortunately they tend to target different races, making sprinting ridiculously predictable and boring.

And Greipel it is

it should be against the rules having Cav and Greipel entering separate races.

Top 3 stage:
1 André Greipel (Lotto-Belisol)
2 Matteo Pelucchi (Iam Cycling)
3 Maxime Daniel (Sojasun) ?

Looks like Lotto's train eliminated everybody else relatively early.

Edit: Top 3 changed.

The Roelandts fans will have to wait for another day ;)

It is obvious he is way behind on his condition, and to get it back he has to race ... seems pretty normal to me

no it's not normal. but then again you know nothing about cycling as you once admitted you only watch races with the schlecks in it so I doubt you saw anything in 2012. it's normal that you train enough during winter. his base level is so pathetic right now that 2013 will be a wasted year as well. you can't bring up that base level by doing races. only by training and that is too late now. he should just stop racing and train for a few months as if it was november-january and then go for vuelta.

It's pretty clear that he's not fully recovered from his injury. He needs to step away from the bike and let himself heal completely.

I think the problem is, as Ryo mentions, that Andy thinks he can get his form back by simply doing a lot of races. But everyone who's ever been racing knows that's not how it works. You build a good foundation by training, then you can fine-tune your form by going to races and getting into race rhythm.

Going into a race with no base form at all will lead to nothing but suffering.
