I'm a proud Chinese and I'm all for China being involved in pro cycling to some degree. But I still say cancel this crap. Beijing is the LAST place in China you'd want to race bikes. The Chinese government has total disregard for the health of their citizens and future generations. They are just as bad as when they were officially communists. Now they call themselves "socialists", this makes what they are doing even more evil.

The riders should protest in racing in this kind of air quality, like what they always do when they are being asked to race on dangerous roads.

Where would you propose the race  - Yunnan/Guangxi province would be my choice :)

It's a stage race so he hasn't finished yet. We should all have a guess as to which day he will give up. My money is on friday.

Sorry, that should probably have been "The era in which stages are finished". I don't know the parcours of the race, but I'm guessing thursday, then.

Great to see Viviani winning, he's had a couple of tough months.

Good start by EBH to get bonus seconds in the stage that suits him the least. Maybe it's a good thing he's not in the leader's jersey yet as he only has 4 team-mates to defend it.

Apparently the Tour of Beijing is exciting for one reason alone: when and how will Andy Schleck abandon? Gentlemen, place your bets.

Too bad Gesink isn't riding or you could talk about the actual race instead.

Give us an analysis of the wonderful stage we've seen, El Pisti. Or didn't you watch? After all, Boonen, Contador, and Gilbert aren't racing.

I won't be able to follow a single stage in the only Asian World Tour race live because of the time zone.

Congrats to Viviani for winning the stage and I hope Samu can have a good showing in the city of his memorable triumph and get Euskatel some much needed points.

What stage race doesn't have at least one flat stage?

All the other stages have a potential to be fairly entertaining, depending on how they're raced.

Man, some confusing commentary from Es today. They thought Adriano Malori took the pink jersey on the stage where Visconti won and got dqd.

Totally different stages of totally different years.

Also said this years Giro was 1 of the hardest. During the race they were saying it was a relatively easy giro.

And they said it was a very attacking giro :D

My comment was more regarding the Abandony obsession on this board.

I don't know how the climbs really will be, it still has the potential to become another Eneco Tour. Including an EBH win ;)

Eneco Tour doesn't have a "massive" MTF like the one we'll get on stage 3 though :p

If EBH gets the leader's jersey we should get an exciting race though, because everyone else could try to go on the attack, given that Sky doesn't really have a team here. Not like Sutton/Dowsett/Rowe can do much in the mountains/hills, and Puccio isn't exactly an alien either.

Good group of 25 in the breakaway
Sanchez (with 3 other Euskatel riders, Hesjedal, Dan Martin, Simon Clarke

No idea of the advantage or where on the course they are

That Cat 1 climb they went over when pictures started was roughly halfway through the stage. Inside the last 50km now they've gone over the 2nd climb.

If this select group stay away then it would be hard to bet against EBH to win. Hopefully we have a few attacks on the final climb.

Much better racing today but where are the on screen graphics!!!

These climbs are quite good, no way was a sprinter going to win today!

Both Martins trying to split the leading group up this final climb.

Now Tony Martin has a gap. Not a good idea by the rest of the peloton to let him go...

I doubt they will catch him. The chase behind will be disrupted by EBH's presence who's by far the best sprinter. Also, EBH has zero teammates.

EBH should've followed him, he was the one guy he shouldn't have let go.
