Nice to see Porte in yesterday's break, too. "No timetrial" is his given reason.
Wasn't impressed with ITV 4's talk ladened, UK centric coverage.
Although, it has to be that way, I suppose, given the "casual" cycling knowledge of their potential viewers.

I'm not sure how folks can form an opinion as to how "exciting" the stage was, compared to the two zzzzzzzzznostfests mentioned, given we had only limited highlights.

tourofbritain 1315 - Richie Porte (SAX) solo attack on Gunn Hill KOM climb, now has a lead of 16s over the lead group #tob

That attack seems to have shed a few souls from the front group.

Chase group 7 secs behind, could be worth watching tonight, not sure if it's wiggins or Henderson in group of 18 conflicting reports

Working for "Wiggo" it seems.

Or not.

Oh Henderson was still there, I thought there was a hill near the end?

Henderson won, will take the lead.

I'm a bit surprised that Sky used both Wiggins and Thomas. I suppose Henderson is very fast and can get time back in the sprints if needed but atm the lead is open to attacks.

very enjoyable stage. Richie Porte was immense, and good work by both wiggins and G protecting the lead group on the final climb before Hendo jumped out and got the win.

very enjoyable stage.

Definately more exciting than Toc/TdU whatever others say.

Have to agree. Interesting to hear Greg Hendersons comments about how hard the stage was, despite it being only 160k's or so.

Evidentally there are those who thought today exciting but personally I've had more fun watching paint dry. There are clearly plenty of riders who are just along for the ride and probably some more who are not able to contribute. If Sky were really interested in the G.C. and I don't just mean winning then there was absolutely no need for Wiggins and Thomas to peel off after their "lead out" which in itself proved pretty pointless although it may ,and I emphasize may, have stopped someone jumping early but I doubt it. All it did was make sure both Sky riders lost around a minute and a half. You can't tell me that riders of the calibre of Wiggins and Thomas, riding in that sort of company, couldn't have latched on to the back and saved themselves the time loss. Perhaps they are just not bothered. I do hope it doesn't get too cozy.

The Sky lead-out was awesome, Brad pulling off with 1.3km to go, 2 km after Geraint was dropped leaving Henderson alone in the lead group and removing 2 chances of overall victory was sublime.

Can't see Cav going there any time soon.

Excellent, they're too sprint-focussed as it is.

the point was to stop the likes of Porte attacking on that final climb. If they had not put the pressure on then Hendo wouldnt have won. Tactically it was spot on as far as the stage win went.
