Sean Kelly would have had a field day with these conditions and parcours. Interesting how some of the teams have put more hard men in this year, Voigt for example (despite crashing out). A few teams learnt from last year that the race is tougher than it looks.

Is that so weird. Cummings beat Contador in Algarve on Malhao at the beginning. He is probably the most explosive. Thomas is good, but on those hills Cummings might be better

Not at all. Sky had two cards, one attacks. Just a question of which one you use. Thomas more likely in a reduced bunch sprint.

How long is that ITT? Because if it's shorter than 15km then it's more likely Boom actually wins time. Don't forget Boom won the prologue in the Dauphine and Qatar...

Unlikely they will beat boom in the TT. They need to have a lead over him before then.

Boom owns prologues/short TTs. This year he won Qatar and Dauphine prologues, and finished 2nd (to The Canc) in the Tirreno ITT, and 5th in both prologue and 'long' (15km) TT in ENECO.

Where it should be noted that in the ENECO 'long' TT he was the best of the wet riders. He even started in the worst conditions of all the top 10.. It was the worst rain when he started, I was there (as it was in my home city).

He could've won that one in Sergents conditions (a lot dryer)
