Sky have handed it to Boom on a platter. Stage 6 showed Geraint could not even handle the rollers, but Sky rode for him. Worrying for Copenhagen

Thomas crashed hard on stage 6. Prior to that, he was clearly one of the stronger riders on the the climbs

Ymmm... he sufferd a very nasty crash with the other rider involed in his cras hbreaking collarbone, wchich he was lucky not too, it was similar rach to Cav/Haussler/Suisse. He was very bruisedd after the crash too, if you didn't see the highlights dont really judge him as he would have easily made to front group without being in that crash.

As evident by what? Thomas never dropped Boom on any climb this Tour of Britain.

You are a shameless chauvinist if you can't admit Boom is, was and will be the strongest rider in this years Tour of Britain.

Had a few beers?

Agreed though, that crash knocked the stuffing out of him and I was suprised to see him get back on the bike.

the post you quote doesnt, as you appear to think, suggest that Thomas was better than your countryman Boom. Just that Thomas was one of the stronger riders on the climbs. A statement supported by Thomas' 2nd place on GC prior to crashing on stage 6.

Even the highlights were to boring to watch.
FF'd through to the finish of a stage that was flat in every sense.
Bagdonas deserved it for being first up the road.

It wasn't the most exciting stage, but because I've been banging on about Bagdonas since his first stage win at the Ras, I still enjoyed it. The guy is an animal and it's great to see a small team getting one over the big teams.

The AP-ST team have been having a great season.

Do you want to know whose fault is it for Geraint's crash? Himself. Didn't keep his sprinting line and dived into a gap that wasn't there.

tbh it is a shame to not have this race come down to the ITT. Boom will win this easily now.

Ha, when I saw the list of who was in the break at the top of the page I was almost certain of who was going to win. Good ride, he's off to the Worlds now as well iirc.

Fwi, Thomas hasn't been ****, he was injured on Stage 6. Doesn't mean he was as good or better than Boom but doesn't mean he is/was ****

Boom was far and away the best, Sky could've beaten him if they'd played their cards a little more sensibly - Thomas chasing Cummings down - WTF??

I think Boom has been outstanding. His positioning in the sprint stages has been excellent, and hes always been in the right place on other stages.

Think he came into this race having read the road book very thoroughly and with a real aim to win it, which he will do.

Very impressive, but it has been handed to him on a plate a little by Sky, Garmin and Leopards lack of threat.

There are far too many "win the TT, win the race" types of races. It is refreshing that a race that could have come down to that won't.
I didn't mean that. What I was saying that it would of been better to have the gc close so the itt means something for the overall instead of it meaning very little. There is a difference between what I said and what you said. Anyway, if you didn't have the tt this race would be pretty much down to time bonuses. I'd rather have a itt decide the gc than time bonuses.

You really do make it hard to like Dutch riders. Even as a Dutchman.

I think it is fair to say that Dekker tifosi is the dutch equivalent of me!:p

OK, I'll chalk that one to a mistake in interpretation.

That's fair enough, after all we already have the Australian Annual Bonus Seconds Extravaganza in the ProTour.

Westra has the best time atm. At the intermediate time check thor is only 4 hundredths of a second off Westra's time.

I watched yesterdays stage this morning, what is wrong with ITV, why cant they get a cycling commentator thats not a ****?

I always thought highly og Hugh Porter, but he is clueless.

"Its fortunate that Ipswich Town arent playing" Fortunate? Dont you think the T.O.B organisers and the football officials communicated Hugh?

He then mentioned how Ipswich is a large CX area and not one mention of the British Nationals being held there in Jan, something HE should be commentating on seeing as though he has done it for the last few years.

Agreed! One of the commentators was wondering if the peloton was going to catch the break who had a 2 minute lead with 5km to go. When the other commentator said no the other one questioned that statement.

I dont suppose he (HP) gets much practice, kind of wheeled out once every year and maybe for the Olympics track programme or whatever.

It would be great if you could mute the commentator sometimes but still get the sound of the cars and crowds etc.

He does a lot of events that arent televised IIRC.
