Is the weather really worse than last years Kuurne-Brussells-Kuurne?

It's been a lovely sunny day here, 90 miles West-ish of Blackpool.

I've got to ride home into the teeth of it in a sec so may revise my view.

we are hundreds of miles away on the east coast, and the wind is insane. There is no way all the signs, gantrys etc would have been safe. Its night on hurricane force.

apparently bikes were getting blown off of the car roofs.

I was just thinking you're on the Isle of Man. I too flew into work today and barely made it home close to the Atlantic Seaboard. It seems to be calming down here, so it'll probably be better on the largest of these isles tomorrow:)

Here's what I think they should've done regarding the cancelled stage:

Getting a bunch of trainer-bikes (those indoor thingies) set for the same route (the stage if possible). The one finishing in the fastest time would've won. :D
They would basically all be TTing simultaneously...

Dunno if this is even possible

Would you watch it if it was televised?

Any wind at all expected for this stage???

There have been strong side winds. Unsurprisingly, Sky pushing the pace, splits in the peloton and the chase group is less than a minute up. Cav in front chase group.

Looks like the whole race has split apart with a very strong front group.

The chase group contains about 15 riders - I saw 5 SKY, 4 LEO, 3 RAB & 3 HTC

Sky doing it in their home race. Impressive how many they've put in the first group. I expected a bit more from the Dutch teams in a windy race, Rabo have only 2 and Vacansoleil only 1, and that's a stagaire (Lindeman)

The Ticker seems to have died.

But if the live tracking thingy is working (a big if), the head of the race is a few hundred yards up the road from the gold jersey with the peleton half a mile back.

Sky have sent Alex Dowsett up the road 15s so HTC are chasing with the Sky riders sitting behind.

Perfect tactics. With 6 of the lead group of 27 they will be disappointed if they dont take the stage.
