To be fair, DQing riders who didn't ride all the final local laps would be done in any race. They just didn't know they were pulled off by a policeman who didn't know they were still in the race, and therefore reinstated the riders.
And the Kiddesvej in Vejle is very narrow and 22%. I can easily imagine motorbikes getting in the way.

However, both of these "problems" could have been avoided by, in the first case, not opening up the final circuit too early: Last year, in Vejle, they had opened up Kiddesvej when some riders were still on the circuit (the policemen stationed at the bottom of the climb weren't aware of that), and these riders approached the crowds swarming the streets at high speed. Somehow the riders did manage to ride up and to the finish, but it can't have been fun.
In the second case, most motorbikes (and team cars!) shouldn't be allowed on Kiddesvej in any case.
Didn't something similar happen in Geelong?

Tomorrow they'll do to stages: one short stage (111 km) and a time trial in the evening (13,2 km). Normally the short stage is ends in a sprint, but what can we expect tomorrow?

Here's a link to the Garmin-profile.

According to http://www.postdanmarkrundt.dk the final lap is 4,3 km long, and they'll race it three times. The final hill is 300 metres long (7 %). Short, but actually quite steep. A stage for Gerrans, Fuglsang or can Breschel, Bennati hang on?

I think if Bennati can be top-5 on Kiddesvej, he will be just fine tomorrow.
Not long/hard enough for Fuglsang to make a real difference, and he's too far behind anyway.
Breschel and, to some extent, Bennati need to find some seconds on especially Mørkøv, and in my opinion the finish favours them.
It'll likely be a result like in Århus, with a couple of riders going on the penultimate lap and trying to stay away (it always is on those final laps). There won't be any real selection in the peloton, so it depends on who's in the move that sticks.
Breschel will probably try again, and if he can get some bonus seconds plus a small gap on the peloton, he has a chance of winning overall.
I don't think Bennati will attack, but he has a good chance of picking up bonus seconds in the sprint (if there's no group up the road).

Dowsett doing a very good job of hanging in there. Only 44 seconds off the overall with a time trial to come.
The TT is only 13km, so he's not going to make up too much time, although he could well move up. Nice to see Gerrans in yellow, but Fuglsang would have had it pretty much sewed up after today's performance, if it weren't for Stage 1. Looks like Bennati or Morkov, unless Breschel (or Gerrans) do something special.

i was thinking top ten, which considering its his first year and hes coming back from injury wouldnt be a bad result at all.

Well he is going to have to tt as well as Fuglsang. Will be tough for Gerron.

More importantly, he will have to TT as well as Mørkøv (and Bennati, who can actually be quite good if necessary). Fuglsang is 1'26" behind - I don't think he'll make that up on 13,2 km. Top-10 is still very feasible for Fuglsang, but Mørkøv, Dowsett and some others should be able to keep him off the win.

I reckon Dowsett will put time into Fuglsand. Chance for a top 10 for Dowsett. 10km longer and he might have got top 5 or even a podium.

I think Bennati will win it with time bonuses and a decent TT.

Interesting one could be Dario Cioni. Can do a half decent TT on occasions (although not this year to be fair) and only 18 seconds back. Might even finish higher than Gerrans.

So the 4th stage is done and not a single word in this forum about it? Anyways Modolo took his 2nd stage win and Bennati closed in on Gerrans by 2(?) seconds.

E: Also Dowsett lost 9 seconds to the main competitors and Fuglsang is totally out by losing 27 seconds

And Rabo with their 4 or 5 sprinters have managed to win nothing again :)

Yeah, what's up with Freire?? Is he a lead-out for Breschel? Breschel got 6th and Freire 14th, doesn't seem like a lead-out for me...

It's 6-4-2 bonuses on a half-stage like today.

Fuglsang was out of it since day 1. I'm guessing Bennati is the main man for Leopard now.

Breschel is indeed their leader for this race. Not exactly their fastest sprinter, but he's Danish. I don't see what Freire getting 14th has to do with his leadout duties, BTW.

Breschel said Freire was there to help him and he didn't think it would be a problem since Freire could use some help in Vuelta a España. And on the first stage he sure did a lead-out.

Says more about the exposure of this tour than CN forum posters....

For the ITT tonight, keep an open eye on Quaade. He'll want to test himself against high-quality opposition.
Bennati got a slightly better position now, but my money is still on Mørkøv for the overall.
