Go Gerrans. I don't get why Dowsett rode so hard, though he is well positioned on GC. Porte won ( nice work ). Astonishing time gap to Larsson who is very good. Shows good form for the WC which he could maybe get into the top 3 of. Fuglsang would have gone better if it was longer, is he going to ride the Vuelta or are Leopard going to send a **** team there???

Erm, because he wanted to try and win the stage, or get a podium on the stage,or move himself up on the gc.

Dowsett has ridden hard every single ITT this season and he's almost always been in the top 5. If he's doing Eneco, he might have a chance to get a stage win.

Hes not sadly and hes not listed as one of the two reserves either. Be a bit much after injury to expect him to do two races in succession with no break.

Without really knowing who he is I could get this idea that he's one of those awesome people who'll ride with all they've got, even if there's no way they can win. :D

Dowsett is mainly an ITT guy. He did some leadouts for Phinney at Trek-Livestrong last year, and apparently isn't bad in the hills too - 10th in the Ster ZLM Tour stage that Gilbert won, and 6th overall. And keeping up on Kiddesvej isn't as easy as it may look from the results...

Light rain in Copenhagen today, on-and-off. Might give a slight advantage to those who like it (Bennati?), but might also not have any influence at all.

How the hell... Bos was amazing at the start of the season, then crap for a long time, and now he appears again.

Weird rider

He was good at the nationals as well. If Rabo had kept it together, he'd have been Dutch champion.

Bout time Gerrans got a win. Congrats to him. Had a feeling he would be there or there abouts when I saw the line ups. After my prediction for Apollonio to win the first stage I kept my mouth shut though. :p

Bos shows his form is growing, perhaps finally his first GT with Rabobank with the coming Vuelta?!?
I certainly hope so

Good win for Gerrans. I didn't think he'd do such a good TT and then beat Bennati in an intermediate sprint :). Nice ride from Dowsett as well.

I hardly think a 21 % gradient is easy.

Certainly not. It's just that it's so short that guys you'd normally not consider "hilly riders" can keep up, and stay in overall contention until the ITT. I'm thinking Bennati (although he's way more than a sprinter), Mørkøv (not the next Gilbert either) or even Modolo (still in the top-10 before the ITT). That might make it look "easy" to people who don't know the route.

I would give a lot to see Gilbert and Sagan race next year (and the race being televised), so people can see how hard it actually is.
But I would also give a lot for making the race 1-2 days longer, and incorporate some Herning gravel roads, a stage in Odsherred or (my favourite) a stage finish in Flensburg (Toosbüystraße, 500 m at 6% or Harrisleer Straße, 1300 m at 4%).

Very well done by Gerrans, a good winner for this race. In my opinion one of the better editions in recent years.
