6. Gilbert

That seems like a very possible outcome, with the exception of 6th place, which seems based more on faith than reason. Off all the predictions, this is the one I'd love to see come true. It would be absolutely great if Chavanel could bag a monument.

Well Chavanel won DePanne which counts for something. I hate doing these predictions becuase I don't ome up with anything out of realm of the obvious. So my twist has Pozzato winning a four man sprint head of Boonen, Cancellara and Ballan. I really would like to see Breschel step up, Haussler return to the form of 09 (or was it 10) and Sagan come thru. I will have them in the next group back.

Langeveld to sneak away and win, now that he's free from Rabo's clutches.
Expanded prediction:
1. Langeveld
2. Terpstra
3. Cancellara
4. Boonen
5. Pozzato
6. Ballan
7. Chavanel
8. Vanmarcke
9. Breschel
10. Devolder

Sagan to be in the main group till the last loop and go backwards and finish in the top 25, one of the Izaguirre bros also to get in top 30. Vacansoleil to get three riders in top 15.

[fanboy mode]Want Canc to win, but probably won't happen. Though wouldn't mind a Tommeke/Chavanel win.[/fanboy mode]

Pippo to win, Haussler to do surprisingly well, Gorka Izagirre to make the top 40, Stijn Devolder not to make the top 40, Boonen to beat Cancellara.

Gorka's not riding.

Eh. Miguel Minguez to finish the race!

1 Cancellara
2 Boonen
3 Pozzato
4 Chavanel
5 Van Marcke

I'm hoping Tom Boonen wil be able to finaly get his third Flanders win, but since the new course favours the strongest rider Cancellara will probably take it.

Chavanel would not beat Boonen in a sprint ( because Sagan will probably be only saving for a sprint considering how young he is- there is no onus for him to make attacks- he has to get dropped ).

Boonen raised a very good point today; he doesn't need to drop anyone to win. At the end of a long race he's probably the fastest.

Cancellara has to drop everyone to win. He also doesn't have Chavanel.

Cancellara is capable of dropping everyone though, particularly with more hills on the route. Unless both Boonen and Chavanel get on his wheel, I'd back the Swiss.

True but last year he did the power attack and was brought back. It's not as easy as you think to do it all on your own. That can't be your only option. By having Chavanel makes the job easier for QS. Boonen has several options based on how the race pans out. He can wait for the final sprint or he can also attack on his own and have other follow. He's not desinted to be on his own to have any chance of winning like Cancellara is.
