Greg Van Avermaet. That is all.
I think he was BMC's 2nd strongest rider last year yet he was the guy going in all the moves and chasing. Hopefully Hincapie and Phil-bear are resigned to doing that. He s looking strong atm and the harder route will work well for him.

Cancellara is gonna kick so much *** it's gonna be amazing :D

Edit: Well at-least my money thinks that's gonna be the case. I put 100,- Euro on Cancellara at a online bookmaker lol..

Why would you throw away so much money on a sport that is so unpredictable?

BMC biased prediction: Ballan will dominate as the course really suits him this year.

Unbiased opinion: The winner is between Ballan, Cancellara and Boonen!

It's just for fun :D I've been betting on some cycling races last 2 years and I have won more then i've lost :D

Agree with you that classis races like Flanders are really unpredictable with flats and stuff.. But hey I will be cheering for Fabian Sunday lol :D

From what i've seen in previous cobbled races i would say:

*** Cancellara, Boonen;
** Vanmarcke, Syl.Chavanel, Pozzato, Sagan;
* Leukemans, Van Avermaet, Langeveld, Oss, Breschel, Hoste, Ballan, Terpstra.

Wow really? I hope he can do something. Haven't been able to see him in action as e3 and GW were very unselective. The course favors GVA and Ballan a lot more this year. Hope they can do something. Top 5 at least I hope. Don't think Thor will be a factor, way too hard for him. Gilbert is a mystery.

I ..................... don't see Hausler at all, he hasn't done a thing this year...
He has some good results earlier, CAn't remember the exact race.

Cance's situation is tragic. He is the strongest guy on the course most days with no team to help set him up for the win.
Rast, Poppo and Benatti are quite strong guys, although you are correct.

EBH is the most over-rated one day racer to ever exist.

There, I said it.
Didnt he win a classic once? (serious question.)

I'm going to bet on Freire as I think he will be better at figuring out the perfect timing for making his move....hoping he will also have a bit of luck going his way.
Yes Friere! I think he finished 5th in this race once, or some classic.

EBH won Gent-Wevelgem in 2009 at the tender age of 21, not too bad for the most overrated one day rider ever:rolleyes:

Tony Gallopin deserves a mention.

Gent-Wevelgem is kind of a classic. Hamburg is regarded as one by some as well.

Hagen won Gent-Wevelgem in 2009.

I quite sure Freire has never finished 5th in RVV. I don't think he's ever done better than 20th or so. He has of course won Brabantse Pijl and Gent-Wevelgem and finished second in E3.

He was best of the rest in Omloop but that is about it....
His team is stronger than last year with rast, popo and Bennati seems to be in some good form and Roulstoun though i havent seen him much so I think he wont be as isolated as last year but nevertheless he doesnt have the necessary firepower there to outgun OMPQ

The Shack guys were certainly more impressive than OPQS in E3. Don't forget Gallopin, he's going very well.

Wonder how Flecha will go after a month without racing. He was looking very strong before his hand injury.

Leukemans?

For Sunday:
Leukemans > GVA, EBH, Terpstra, Devolder, Westra, Gilbert, Langeveld...

We saw last year that even if Cancellara is reeled in ( this year on a harder route ) he can go again on the flats. Therefore Cancellara.
Of course Boonen/ OPQS can put up stout resistance and Cancellara will have to defenitly try drop Sagan ( the whole focus of the race/ decisive move might resolve on forcing a selection without him ).

1. Cancellara - if he can stay away for the last 10km
2. Boonen - if it comes down to a sprint
3. Sagan or Vanmarke

Breschel as an outsider.

Since no team but OPQST seems strong enough to lead the peleton, should they refuse to ride I'm pretty sure a break (probably not the BOTD but a later break with semi-favourites) will make it, espessially because Quickstep seems to have gambled on those breaks in every cobbled race now (Terpstra (who wins), Chavanel (who was reeled in eventually), etc.).

My prediction
1. Langeveld
2. Breschel
3. Chavanel
4. Leukemans
5. Hoste
-- (end of the break)
6. Boonen
7. Cancellara
8. Flecha
9. Ballan
10. Vanmarcke
