Geox is a ****ing shambles right now. You'd think with race invites being scarce they'd be trying to make the most of every opportunity, but apparently not. I hope they get it together fast.

I hope so too. My VDS team is stacked with Geox riders.

Gesink an Vino both have said they want to show themselves this week. Who do you thing has a bigger chance of winning the Tour of Oman? Gesink because he is a better climber or Vino because of his better TT skils?

Allegedly and i can't recall who said it, but Gesink is supposed to have finished in the top 10 in a TT once.

Could be just a rumour, though.

;)

11th if I remember in Pais Vasco and 10th on Olympic Time Trial, which were all hilly and so is this one.

Gesink has been 5th in a Pais Vasco hilly TT in 2008, the numbers 1, 2 and 3 were Contador, Evans and T.Dekker..and a year later he was 6th in a Tirreno hilly TT of 30km...

Should say enough about Gesink in hilly time trials (one certainty he doesn't suck at)

Looks good for Gesink but He'll lose hours in that TT... ok I said it... now dutchmen kill me :D

nah but now seriously... I can see Vino wining GC in Oman He was on Etna climbing and should be on form... but If Gesink is on form too he can deliver it... also is time for more hype for him =D

You certainly seem to have a Gesink obsession.

If you want to do that properly then you shouldn't mention you want to do it to troll us dutchies :D

I think Vino has a good shot at it, but since the TT is hilly Gesink should do 'ok' as well. I'm not sure about Rodriguez on a hilly TT, but I suppose it should be a pure MTF-TT for Rodriguez to perform well in a TT.

Normally it should be between Vino and Gesink I guess? Allthough Fuglsang could have a try as well. Besides that it's still early in the season so there could be a nice surprise as well.

They still have David Blanco in the race, definitely an outsider for the win.

This.

Blanco is motivated, it'll be his first real race back in the pro péloton, he's a damn good time triallist and he can climb some too.

It depends on what his goals are supposed to be for the season, if he's in decent form he could well top 5 the race.

The two climbs in the time trial are pretty solid:~3km@~7% + ~1,5km@~13%, cant see the specialists taking enough time back, Rodriguez or Gesink for the overall.

This TT looks to be pretty damn hard. That's good for Bobby G.

And the one in the 2010 tour de suisse where he was suppose to be in awesome form but absolutely ****ed his overall chances up with an abysmal ride

Stage 4 Finish

22.995153°, 57.704262°

Does this look like the finish to you guys?
I definitely appreciate the sense of humor it takes to call this 'Green Mountain'.

That one wasn't hilly.

Now where is this Kristoff guy you were talking about?

Out in the wind, getting a lead-out from his imaginary BMC teammates :p

Gesink has a history of decent time trial results... but last year the only one that was even decent was Pais-Vasco (9th, 5 spots ahead of Andy Schleck).

Aside from that, the ones I see were 40th in the TDS ITT, 56th in the TDF prologue and 109th in the TDF ITT.

He's on a run of 3 sub-par time trial results. Not the end of the world, but there's a reason his ITT ability is beginning to be questioned.

Yes because some people didn't get the memo that 2 bad results (im not taking prologues as a normal TT) after a whole series of decent to good ones doesn't mean anything and have to go on and on about it.
