See the photo finish? He was angry facing Bennati as he crossed the line. He surely had to work hard, but he won with enough energy to make a point to the fool Bennati.

I guess everyone's happy for Haussler's win! Is he still German?

Steegmans certainly got Boonen up close from being so far back. A great little burst by him before the sprint finish.

Honestly looking at the overheaad, Boonen comes RIGHT across to try to take Haussler off Bennati's wheel, it was not a very safe move at all. If he'd stuck with his lead-out man or gone the other way he might have won, as it was he ended up sixth.

Haussler ought to have the seconds to take the lead now.

Boonen should be 1 second ahead?

What an earth happened to Sky?

...and their vast array of elite sprinters? Who knows?

More interestingly, to me anyway, is what happened to HTC? Not often you get a massed sprint without them getting in on the action.

Not sure why Boonen left Steegmans' wheel.

But yay Galimzyanov! I'm happy for reasons that apparently shan't be discussed outside of the appropriate thread.

I found that strange too. It looked like staying in Steegmans wheel would have been right.

He's about as Austalian as Brammeier and Martin are Irish....

I don't really know their history.

Haussler spent his formative years down under, lived more there than elsewhere, holds only Australian citizenship.

Galimzyanov was coming up FAST at the finish line, he might have overtaken Haussler in ten more metres.

Boonen saw the white patch on Hauselers shoulder and thought it was a snorting opportinity.

Magentic forces took over.

Why bother pulling the break back if you aren't going to organise yourselves to do a decent lead out, even if the sprinters aren't great. Very odd indeed.

He's going to have a tough season with Garmin and Sky around.

Just having some fun as I know it winds the Aussies and Irish up.

You have proved my point.

Well, it would be a good windup if there was a factual basis to it...
