Are wins like this something the team decides or the rider? Did UAE go into this race deciding that Majka will win every race they’re in front? I could only see that happening if they’re 100% sure Pog will be undeniably dominant at the Tour.

I believe this is only for the steepest part (last 5.5 km?). 1809 of VAM is decent albeit not really fast (definitely not 6.2 w/kg, it's 6.3 at least, maybe approaching 6.4) but the climb wasn't done a bloc so no conclusions.

It's up to the riders in this case. Pog definitely has the autonomy to decide on many things, he can even attack spontaneously in unexpected places without consulting with his directors (as he did before).

Comparing Dauphiné and ToS (and TdS).

At Dauphiné i would say the field was (substantially) stronger. Rogla did a rather good TT especially in regards to GC section. And he likely experimented a bit with gear ratios. There was a stage involving a leadout and a Roglstomp and there was a stage where Vingegaard and Rogla both went all in and the performance was really good. I assume Rogla is not peaking just yet.

At ToS i would say the field was not as strong. Still UAE managed to play around with the likes of Bahrain. Pogi more or less went all in at every chance he got. This could indicate he is likely near peak form. Pogi was much stronger then Majka hence on a lot of stages he did the work and pull.

Rogla vs. Pogi. I would say they both did their job and likely a near ideal versions of themselves will undergo Tour 2022. I doubt any of them strongly believes he can just drop the other one with ease.

Vingegaard vs. Majka. I would say that here Vingegaard feels much stronger ATM.

UAE is again likely betting all on Pogi to just outclass everybody else. JV on the other hand found at least one weapon to put some worry in UAE. And that is for JV to play a numbers game on Pogi. This is now a realistic option. This is likely on why UAE raced ToS as they did. Pogi stressing Majka out 110% at every chance possible. Keeping him well trained.

As for TdS. I don't follow it but reading about it i see a lot of big names are doing well over there. It's likely a fun preparation race for the Tour.

And there i guess it the Covid. It could change the field substantially. In regards to the team members. Hopefully not!

All in all likely a great Tour edition ahead. Main protagonists did their job and prepared well. Thank you for that.

Can sprinters get over the last climb? It's 2lm @9%
I think they can, since it's still 10km of flat after.

One thing that could be "troublesome" for Mohorič is that additional remark. A 20% section at Trška gora. Pogi might say to Majka lets go i will pull for you. And Majka like please no. As i didn't eat the pancakes this morning. And off they went.

Training for the Tour.

I see no reason why Pog wouldn't want to win this? He's been gifting stages he could gift, but this one is much harder to gift + he can't gift to Majka without losing the overall race.

Noone in this field should be close to Pog on a climb like this + the chase would be disorganized and disrupted by Majka.

Maybe he doesn't want to take risks in the descent if its technical or wet but I hope that he listens to you.

BEX has to hope that Mezgec has good legs because they've had no help from the peleton - They made life unnecessarily difficult by allowing an extra six riders to join the break.
