Basically same situation as stage 1, except with Mohoric instead of Novak.

Three riders: two Slovenians, and two UAE riders.

Good sprint at the end. The slight uphill helped Pog for sure.

Well leaving discussions about Pogačar climbing aside, his sprint is in shape.

First rider to reach 10 wins this season let's see if anyone can overtake him until the end of the year

Stated earlier that Mezgec would need super legs to survive the climb - He had very good legs and that made the difference.

Congratulations to Tadej Pogačar for winning the stage and overall.

Novak in the end secured a podium position. Congrats. Mohorič keeping up with Pogi on 20% sections. Pogi making sure Majka gets a good training. All in all i feel that Pogi should let this one slide. He gained nothing with this win. Likely quite the contrary. Sometimes you need friends in the peloton and today he likely lost one.

Yes, but can he race against grown men? People will say he only beat Paul Double and a couple of Pro conti guys.

Nah he didn't lose friends today lol. Mohoric knows this is racing.

Still you may wonder why Pog prefers Tour of Slovenia, and I think it may simply be because he has a tendency to get in red hot shape very quickly, so there's a chance a hard raced Dauphine or Switserland may be a bit too much, or at least more than is ideal.

So Pog was in no mood for more gifts to sprinters or Mohoric. Congrats. It's his 8th (!) stage race victory out of last 9 he entered, dating back to Tour'2020.
@Red Rick I'm tempted to say that Pogacar from the spring would drop Mohoric here. OTOH, maybe the climb was a tad too short and maybe Pog isn't that great on short muritos (see FW).
